Ok, heres what happened, my girlfriends boss told her to get an abortion not once but twice, she didn`t so she got fired friday for making a pro life decision. She was working with dna and rna and we have a list of all the chemicals that are used in the process to their dismay. They seem as though they`re very scared about something.

Anyways, my question is, can she get fired for not having an abortion?

We don`t know what the chemicals can do and she`s been pregnant and working around them for two months. It`s like they know something but aren`t telling us.

get a lawyer! if her company employs more than 50 people then she may be covered under FMLA federal medical leave act (thanks Bill Clinton). It prevents employers from firing women for getting pregnant but also covers people who become seriously ill.

That's discrimination and they can't mandate a surgical procedure. You need to get a lawyer and FAST!

If she is working around dangerous chemicals, they can give her leave. If she signed a contract that addresses the pregnancy issue and the company states that should she become she could be terminated/placed on leave or something to that affect, then she may not have a leg to stand on. However, if she can prove they actually said "Get an abortion or get fired", She has a huge case and she should file ASAP.

Lafever, I wouldn't trust anyone's advice from a Large Penis Support Group about sensitive issues like this.

That said, you and your girlfriend need to find a lawyer that specialises in women's issues/discrimination if the situation really is that serious. Don't ask for free advice from people who probably don't know jack shit about discrimination in the workplace and the legalities involved. Be smart and hire someone who does.
