I suspect part of the appeal for them staying in Mexico is because if they come back to the U.S., except for in just a few states (none of the really popular ones), they’d have to practice social distancing and lock-downs. Whereas in Mexico where’s it not as bad relatively, they feel empowered to do whatever they want: live it up in luxury at someone else’s dime and have sex (with paying clients).

Well, in this case, I think it is possible: he’s not just a wedding planner, he’s the owner of the whole company which caters specifically to big, expensive, over-the-top weddings held in ritzy venues and locations all over the world. He fancies himself being like Gianni Versace and likes to surround himself with “beautiful” things. So the mutual attraction between him and high-class gay hookers/escorts doesn’t really seem all that surprising:
