Here's the actual transcript of the May, 1996 town meeting led by Sarah Palin.

(Worth checking out! Topics of discussion: cookies? yes. foreign policy? no.)

Well if nothing else, Palin's selection has got America more focused on the GOP than on Obama (for now) - which is exactly what they wanted (and needed).

Some attention (even if not all good) is apparently better than getting totally ignored.

Knowing mindseye he would have included an irrefutable source if it's not strictly satirical.

...and thanks for calling me on it.

The person who sent me the link is someone that I generally trust to vet these sorts of things first, but this "transcript" doesn't pass the sniff test.

I wasn't able to find an actual transcript of the alleged meeting, but I was able to get a list of the members of the Wasilla Town Council at the time: Nick Carney, David Chappel, Darlene Langill, Norman Fuller, Dianne Keller, and Judy Patrick.

As there was no one on the council named either "Missy" or "Melissa", I've got to conclude -- to my own embarrassment -- that the YouTube link is a hoax.

    I apologize.

    "Trust, but Verify". :biggrin1:

I was torn as to whether quoting Ronnie or shouting FACT CHECK from the rooftops was more appropriate in this case...
