Anyone on here. Have any perapective/insight in this area. I tore my Achilles with and Avolsion fracture. Had surgery in Sept. Looking to see how long it may take me to get back to full health and to start losing all the weight gained due to the injury?

Depending on the severity of the Avulsion fracture, it can take from 3 to 12 weeks to heal and up to 6 months for the Achilles to heal. If you have been fitted with a walking cast/boot, then you will still be able to exercise. Just make sure that you do not exercise the calf muscle in the leg which has sustained the injury. For this, you will want the assistance of a physical therapist who can stretch out the muscle and gradually help you build up strength in the Achilles. Try to also keep your nutritional intake as clean as possible so that it will make losing the weight a bit easier for you.
