Consider this the "glass is half-full" take on the other thread about ads you hate. Props to Jason_Els, who had the same idea.

I'll kick it off with a spot that I remember as being among the first of the pull-out-all-the-stops commercials produced to run during the Super Bowl. Nissan ran this 60-second ad during the 1990 game to introduce the turbocharged version of the new Z.

I used to have a postcard on my fridge that showed a Volkswagen campaign gone awry. It showed a billboard on a city street with the latest model of a Jetta or Rabbit or Cabriolet (can't remember any more, doesn't really matter). The ad copy on the top said "If this car were a woman, you'd pinch her butt".

Spray painted under it was written: "If this woman were a car she'd run you down".

I always found that hysterical.

Another category of "commercials I love" is commercials that introduce me to a great song that I just HAVE to find out what the song is and who does it! Here are a couple of these:

There was an ad campaign a while back (sorry, can't find any of the commercials on YouTube) about how life without music just wouldn't be the same, and it had these people doing spoken-word like poetry readings of songs like "Play That Funky Music", "Boogie Oogie Oogie" and "Achy Breaky Heart". :biggrin1: Those songs don't work as spoken word! :biggrin1::biggrin1: (And I like "Play That Funky Music"!)
