That's yet another American Idol disappointment. I love Adam, but this song is so over-produced, so-over dubbed, it doesn't even sound human. Why don't they let these people sing good songs appropriate for their voices instead of creating the "newest" version of the same old bs?

I think you guys are tripping. You have to understand what his audience is going to want to hear (appealing to the masses), and his new single is a straight up club banger. It's goes along well with the new wave of music that is taking over, certainly within my generation and younger, except it's a little better. I will also bet that not every song, or even the majority, will sound like that on his album. There will songs that are probably straight up rock, some club jump offs like this one, and a couple ballads (like the single for 2012, not to be confused with his new club banger). Who knows, but the bottom line is this dude is talented and I bet he has some talented people surrounding him to make sure he is a hit.

He will probably have all types of shit on there, but nonetheless I will be and some of you should be excited that at least someone new and fresh is on the scene who actually has some skill. He's better than American Idol, he just needed that as a platform, so I venture that he will fare better than previous Idol winners in terms of popularity, and the diversity in his music. Bottom line his new song has a hot beat.

Like it or not, this is the current wave flowing through the music industry. Music and songs that can be created by one man with a computer and a vocalist (or not). But that is pretty cool, that you don't need to be buying heavy studio time, when you have the ability to create music from your computer with programs like logic or pro tools. Everything on this planet is becoming more computerized, including the sounds of pop music. But with Adam it is an above average vocalist with some above average beats and songs, much better than what I perceive to be out there currently.

Skull I'm sorry, it's NO secret you love this guy but music is music. It DOES NOT come from a computer. Someone should come up w/a different name for it. It's NOT music.
Music is MUSIC..instruments and singers. Adam is a screamer and a yeller. TO me I need a singer and real instruments. Again I kow you love him but he's not my cup of tea or eyeliner. Klaus Nomi did eyeliner better. If not more static but w/better agility.Yes they're two diff scenarios in terms of song styles but....a avoice is a voice and music is music..

FROM ALL THINGS ADAM LAMBERT ... An excellent update blog piece from AfterElton with some great vids.

IMO, two quotes from this piece really hit homeruns:

"People, including Adam, keep comparing him to David Bowie or Freddie Mercury. But listening to Adam talk (as opposed to sing), I’m reminded more of Madonna. Nobody ever said Madonna was a great singer, not even Madonna herself. But she’s a stellar marketer, a mesmerizing performer, and it’s served her well for nearly 30 years."

"When I reviewed his album, I had some concerns that when taken individually, the tracks were a little derivative of other artists. Taken as a whole, those concerns melt away. It’s a lot like Adam himself, take elements about him individually: theatrical, glam, gay, guyliner, rocker. It causes some concern to his marketability. Taken as a whole, you get Adam Lambert, artist."
