So what I get from his clarification is that he is claiming, he didn’t have anything physical with her but only inappropriately texted or/and spoke with her.
Even if he didn't engage in anything physical with her, he was pursuing it. Otherwise why would a married man inappropriately text another woman. Or maybe the girl is correct and they did have an affair and now Adam is just trying to cover up the whole incident.
Is wouldn't be the first time he pretends something that happen didn't happen , like with the Lindsay Lohan thing

You maybe right. Maybe he was trying for a random hookup and texted the girl a bit pursuing that. A year long affair seems an exaggeration by the texts she has shown. Though I won't be surprised if he cheated on his wife with some other random women. It seems like he tries to have random one time hookups or brief affairs outside his marriage.
