Adderall and Erections

Hey all,
I started taking Adderall for my ADD about a month ago...this is the first time I've been on any ADD medication as an adult. What I was wondering was if there are any others out there that have had erection issues (weak, inability to get hard/stay hard, etc.) while being on a prescription stimulant? When I first started taking it, I was really having some serious issues getting and maintaining good erections. It seems to have gotten better now that I've been on it for awhile. Was wanting to know if anyone had any similar experiences?

I'm only taking 10mg of just regular Adderall (not the extended release). I'm also in the process of coming off of one of my anti-depressants (which oddly enough was making me depressed), so it may have been more to do with that than the adderall

I started getting prescribed Adderall XR 30mg (equivalent to two doses of regular Adderall 15mg taken 4 hrs apart) when I was 20. For the first few weeks it took a lot more direct physical stimulation to stay hard. After a few weeks it started to get better and now Adderall makes me much more horny and sometimes preoccupied with sex if I take more than I'm supposed to.

I bet soon you'll start to get more horny. Adderall increases dopamine which in addition to helping ADD also lowers prolactin which is what causes the refractory period after orgasm. Once your body gets used to the cardiovascular effects of increased norepinephrine, the dopamine effects will take over.

THAT'S why I've been fucking horny as hell the last few days! Also explains why I'm able to have multiple orgasms so much easier these days (not to mention I've gotten to where a wanking session is on average lasting 2+ hours). And again, I experienced EXACTLY as you described with my erections for the first 3-4 weeks of taking it. Thank you SO much!

no experience with this particular medication, but would expect the above to be correct, if you maintain taking minimal quantity's, initially at lease!

Adderall, like many prescription drugs, has some potential sexual side-effects. Not everyone experiences them, and they're not the same for everyone who experiences them.

I would expect that, as colgan said, your body will adjust. If it doesn't, speak with your physician

well, like I was telling a friend earlier today...I feel as if I were going through puberty again. I have had these raging hormones (horny as fuck, more physically playful...I guess kind of what men who have had low testosterone feel after getting on a T replacement/booster. Its a good thing and a bad thing. I have all of this sexual energy that I haven't experienced since I was in my teens, but I have the mentality of a 30-something. Its kind of annoying having all of that energy, but seeing as my libido has been pretty much a joke for the last 5+ years, I'll take it. Also, in the same conversation, discussed the fact that I was almost completely off of Serzone (a SSRI) after being on it for 10+ years (been weening myself off of it under doctors orders). She suggested (and I concurred) that what may be going on was that my hormone levels are spiking due to the fact that the Serzone virtually killed my libido. I think my testosterone levels will begin to level out once I've gotten the Serzone completely out of my system.

I was almost too young to remember, but as a child I occasionally was given Ritalin. I'm glad my mom realized I just needed to move about more. To this day I'm active at work and play and think much better... and no E.D.
I know this may seem a bit unrelated, but have a watch and see if the part about (Jillian) being physical, ADHD, and actually using your body to help you focus could apply to your physiologic needs.
