I'm 32 and thinking of getting circumcised. I'm kinda torn on the decision. I feel like I have an unhealthy sex drive and was wondering if getting circumcised will help tone down my sex drive. please reply only if you have been circumcised as an adult and let me know what you think.

I would also agree with bojohn796 - absolutely delighted with the result even after three weeks!

Did you have glue instead of stitches? I did and it makes a massive positive difference to the healing time and cosmetic result.

No pictures but I can tell you I went for a high and medium cut, high which retains the inner foreskin (important for sensitivity) and the medium bit means the skin is still fairly mobile. My advice would be to do as much research as possible (mine took ten years) before you go for it to make sure it is definitely what you want, and above all else ignore all the anti-circ lunatics and their biased, inaccurate opinions. The best people to talk to are those who have actually been circumcised as adults.

I'm not sure there is any such thing as an 'unhealthy' sex drive! Hasn't research shown that most men, of whatever age, think about sex at least once every five minutes?

I was circumcised at my own choice two months ago, after many years of wanting it, and it has greatly enhanced my sexual experiences. I'd kept my foreskin permanently pulled back for four years previously, so the glans has had time to 'desensitize', which it simply has not done. I agree with ukboy and bojohn - nothing but benefit. I have also chatted with many, many, other guys online, and they all say the same.

If being circumcised is something you really want to do, for whatever reason, then do it now. Otherwise it will niggle away at the back of your mind until you do.

I was circumcised for medical reasons when I was 53. Once everything returned to normal I noticed no difference with sex drive or the ability to obtain good orgasms however they were made. BUT I still my prefer my cock the way it was, with the foreskin intact.

With the caveat that it is still early days, I still have a very sensitive spot at the back of the glans and more sensitive exposed inner foreskin, so overall it is if anything better. Certainly no worse.

I must have missed the keratin lecture in school. More silliness.

Considering most of the studies which point to circumcision being potentially, or certainly, harmful weren't published until after the year 2000, it's totally possible you did. Although it is worth noting that keratinization was an observed biological process before those studies.

Since you claim to be a knowledgeable practicing professional, what's your take on the 2007 study done by Dr. Morris Sorrels?

I got it done a few years back. Wasn't painful. Sensation feels identical... I have noticed no difference. Do it.

No, don't... Unless, of course, you have a serious medical reason like incurable phimosis...or, I guess you really, really want an ugly, incomplete penis.
