I was circumcised 6 weeks ago, age 57. Purely cosmetic: I'd been keeping my foreskin retracted for years anyway, as so many other guys do, and never used it during sex. I would have had it done much earlier, but various things prevented it. Also, there is so much more information available now we have the internet than there was 25 years ago, and it was very easy to find a reputable specialist clinic, as opposed to leafing through the classified ads in dodgy magazines! I was able to have surgical glue to close the wound, so the healing has been really easy and totally painless - a little uncomfortable at times, but not enough even to need a paracetamol!
Very happy it's been done now, and looking forward to seeing the final result once things settle down - it's still a bit sore where my frenulum was removed, but that is always the bit that takes longest to heal up. The fren was quite thick and rather short (not painfully so, but it did pull my glans a bit downward when fully retracted), with no sensation in it, so I decided it might as well to go.
Sensation-wise I don't know yet, as it's too soon for full-on use. I did have some 'oral attention' recently, and, although my glans has been exposed for years, the sensations I got were much stronger and deeper.
There are those of us who, for whatever reason, find the circumcised penis more attractive, erotically and otherwise, on both ourselves and others, and that was my sole reason.
