Is this site worth it? I signed up with this username ( 3milimeters) & it is mostly guys messaging me. Tried to speak with some women and it gave me links to some various pay sex sites. Is it a scam or do any of you use the site?

I travel for work all the time & thought it would be cool to find some cool women all over the place. Sucks having to work all the time. Stuck in Newport News VA now until thurs...

Im starting to think all those sites are a scam really....I tried to post something about hook up and dating websites on here, about what people thought of them, and I cant find the message I posted or any responses to it...

but I agree, i never get responses from those. I think a lot of people are basically reluctant to use sites like that, I mean they put their profiles on there, and in that way they are out going .........but when it comes to meeting anyone for real....they dont really back it up....if they do, they feel weird about it, because there is an odd feeling no matter where its from on the internet, whether it be Eharmony.com or adultfriendfinder ...or what not....

Ive given up on those websites, they are too expensive and no one talks on there....which sucks, because I live in a small town area... not exactly NYC where I live, so I never meet women......but Im certainly not dumping money on these websites anymore.

There was some pay matchmaker site in the news a couple years ago because it turned out many of the messages the customers received had actually come from the staff instead of other customers!! If they didn't think you were getting enough messages for you to keep renewing your membership, they would pose as other people looking for a match and message you!

I agree..... are there any of these sites out there that are any good??? They are so riddled with fake ads on there that are hooked to porn sites, and have people who work for them writing fake emails to potential customers.. .its sick.....and they are all overpriced too.

There are people out there who meet people that way .Ive met a few for awhile ....but again im the guy who lives in the rural area where a lot of the single ones are odd... for me its a numbers game getting responses and trying to avoid the odd ladies...but it doesnt help when you have crooked corrupted websites stealing your money for nothing.

You may be better off with regular dating sites. But I think there are real people on AFF. If the pictures look to good to be true, then they probably are. They get you to sign up thinking that you will get to meet all the hot models in the ads. You have to be willing to meet people that aren't idea, especially if you are not ideal yourself.

I have meet singles and couples on the site. Find out where the meet and greets in your area are and go to one. These people are all over you right in the bar. Couple on the site are a trip, I always get "this is for her" because they have hooked up with girls. The site is for real you just have to get to check your profile often and chat with local people.

I belonged for about a year. Most of the girls were just selling thier webcams or trying to get your personal email to sell you something.

A lot of the couples are real; but hard to connect with.

Several of the pictures - guys and girls - were pics I've seen all over the internet.

It was a complete waste for me.

Yes, there are real people on AFF, but many of the profiles are cam/scam girls. As was said before, if the pictures look professional then it's probably too good to be true.

I actually met one really great girl there but she lived just far enough away from me that it was difficult for the two of us to see each other. Some other guy snatched her up (saw it on her MySpace page)

I have actually met a few people on there. It's not a complete scam as there are lots of real people on there, it just takes effort to attract people.

One big misconception is that there are so many people on there that it should be easy to find people, but it takes a lot more work than that. A lot of profiles I see on there just have that they are there and want sex. Then the picture on there just has a penis or a vagina on it. What you need is a picture that shows your face and/or whole body and a profile that sets yourself apart from the millions of people that you don't try to do anything. What I mean by that is tell people about your personality, likes and dislikes, what you like to do in bed...anything that shows that there's a real person there. Trust me, you'll see much more activity on your account if you try.

my take on all of this

AFF is not a complete waste, though the ratio is pretty simple, out of 100,000 people using the service, 80,000 are men, of the remaining 20%, 10 percent are couples (which as couples go, about 90% are real people though 75% are looking for single females only, good luck with that) and of the 10% that are female, only about 10% are real women
mind you, i live in las vegas, so your ratios may vary, whole lot of womens on there from here looking to be "rented"

so as a single man looking for some hetro action, your looking at about 1% of the total population of the service as being "available" if your looking for some wang, then the site would be awesome, plenty of wang searching going on there

as touched on before, yes AFF be some greedy bastards, so only sign up for gold and silver if you have a little cash burning a hole in your pocket, and dont expect anything to come of it

as for the effectiveness of the service,
i have gotten laid though the service by 3 different girls, had my first introduction into swinging/swaping, and have met my girlfriend from there

I will add my 2 cents as a female on AFF. As another poster suggested you might do better with a more mainstream site. Sadly the double standard is alive and thriving and there is still a taboo about women being open about liking sex. I still get a lot of moral baggage dumped on me by guys who call me a whore/slut or a hooker for being on a sex site.

However, overall the experience has been positive and of the men I do actually meet they tend to be more normal than those on match, eharmony, etc. You don’t have to actually pay but you are really limited in what you can do if you are a free member. Though you can boost your points with page hits by joining groups, writing a blog and chatting.

Most all of the men I have talked to have been contacted by and met couples for sex where the husband wants to watch the wife.
