Don't put all Your eggs in one basket. Have something to fall back on.

I'm a bass player, songwriter, producer. It's what I know. It's what I do. I erroneously assumed life was about what You know. Turned out it's all about who You know. So when the recording contract never came, it finally dawned on me that money would be a problem too.
Makes me wish I'd developed some other hobbies that might've paid off (like...oh...surgery or something).
