This is very interesting... Lately, I have had less desire to beat-off and when I try, I usually give up after a short period of time. I thought about it and I figured out that my desire started waning about the same time I joined LPSG. I don't know whether I am getting over-sensitized to porn or if I am enjoying the process less now that I have so many bigger guys to compare to.

There's a very fine line between what you are repulsed by versus what you are not attracted to. The latter of the two I think can shift one way or the other depending on your experiences and any personal philosophies. Sexuality is fluid, and we have the control to play around with that. After all, one's sexual identity isn't defined by your sexual practices right? Don't you just LOVE sex?!? :biggrin1:

But I can't imagine jerking off to something that I didn't find attractive...I wouldn't even be able to get it up. Now if you find yourself mildly attracted to something and begin watching more porn of that genre, perhaps your attraction to it could grow along with your interest in trying it personally. But I think there would have to be an initial interest.

I'd have to say no, not really.

I've always enjoyed watching lots of porn with women in it, but that doesn't mean that I'm actually all that interested in exploring women's sexuality. When I watch it, I tend to focus on the guys participating rather than the women, and that girl/girl thing that straight guys find so fascinating does absolutely nothing for me.

A long time ago I gave up trying to rationalize/reconcile/define my porn choices, because some things can clearly be over-thought. I'll never forget the horror of a friend I had in my early 20s when he exclaimed aloud (after a few too many cocktails, at a party, to a roomful of people) that he was forever ruined because he no longer found solos and soft-core erotic enough to JO to. I found the topic risible and told him so.

What if it's the pornography itself which was the original spark of interest, something you stumbled upon while going through the "normal" porn you usually watch?
I think pornography could be an avenue of exploration, a tool we can use to explore the different aspects of our sexuality, not simply something we jerk off to without thinking about it. Sometimes I do watch porn without j/o, or I continue watching afterwards.
In a world where speaking about sex is taboo I don't think we use porn to our advantage as much as we really could. Obviously, it would require effort to find the right kind of porn with good enough quality, but I think it'd be worth it; we have to search for everything else anyways. At least this way, we get practice at web-surfing (a valuable skill these days).
I've watched lesbian porn before and am actually curious about watching more. It doesn't turn me on as much as "straight" porn, but I still find it a valuable experience.
