- Wrey,
I offer the following to the members in good standing at the LPSG as way of apology for having participated in the latest round of distracting flame wars.
From up on high
And down below
No one could miss
The baleful glow
Of threads alight and flames in hand
As keyboards clicked across the land
Word and thought
And wicked deed
Cast out to quench
A hateful need
To rend apart the amity
Of our fragile cyber family
Flames burned high
And threads grew long
Some were week
Some were strong
Some from the battle did refrain
And wondered just what would remain
The battle raged
The nights grew long
And we all pondered
Just who was wrong
Was it he who struck out first
Or those with vengeance as a thirst
The war is over
And no one wins
Not one who fought
Is clean from sins
We lick our wounds and take to bed
With angry words still in our head
The grey of morning
The sun’s first rays
The promise
Of continued days
Of banter and of making friends
Of subjects that have peaceful ends
Some who fought
Can’t help but feel
That for forgiveness
We must appeal
To those who never wanted war
I lay down my flame forever more
