Yeah the impact of the age difference depends on the people involved.

For some reason my 3 serious bfs have all been older than me - one 15 years older, one 10 years older, one 17 years older. This has caused friends to say "Oh you like older guys then." Well....no not really, not specifically. I like the people I like. These three happened to be older.

I've had fuck buds / sexual "relationships" with all sorts of age differences. When I was about 22 I had sex with a guy who was about 60 (so 38 years older); when I was 32 I had sex with a guy who was about 21 (11 years younger). That pretty much spans the gap.

It's not how many years a potential sexual or life partner has been on the planet that matters to me, it's whether they are attractive (for a sex partner) or interesting (for a life partner).

Or, as Cher said, "It's not like I'm carding people at the door."

My ex and I were (still are) 30 years apart. I'm 54 and he's 24. I was not in favor of it at first but he was so much more mature than his 21 years at the time we met. But we were different in many ways including experience and that's where it failed. I did my thing and was really looking to settle down. He said it at first but it deteriorated and he got caught meeting other guys while I was out of town on business. He was even bold enough to start going out while I was home claiming it was a night out with school mates. He used me in so many ways. At the time while he was finishing school, I paid for everything and even the money he used to "go out with his mates" was mine - so was the car he used.

It was a mistake on my part to fall for him. I should have listened to myself when we first met that it would not work out EXACTLY for the reason it failed. Age does matter in some cases. Anyone going with someone so much younger needs to go into aware of the pitfalls.

We've all been there Thickjohnny and if we haven't..we will be there! As we age we probably get a little more stupid when we see a younger hot partner....and unless they are into "us" and not our financial wherewithal, we'll probably deny what we already know and our friends already see.....and "just be human" and keep something going we know we shouldn't.....but can't seem to live without. Only down the road a piece, after we've been hurt and lick our emotional wounds will we heal and at least see that we had some element of "fun" with our frailty........."tis better to have love and lost than not to have loved at all!!"

By the way...hot dick you're packin my friend!!!

I was with a guy who is 18 years my senior for 7 years and it was a great relationship overall.

I love myself an older man! :biggrin1:

Glad to hear it moon beam, because I was in a relationship with a woman who was 7 years my senior for 10 years, and we had the most amazing sex I ever had with anyone (check out my blog, much of it is/will be based on my experiences with her.)

And I am now with a woman 7 years younger than me, and that is even better.

Mind you, my sex life started by me being abused by a much older man for four years when I was at boarding school. That is not to be recommended. That left scars.

No, that's not really a big age difference.
I wouldn't worry about that as an issue in itself.
See if she likes you first, before you worry about anything though.
If you get the feeling that she does, the most important thing to do when dating someone younger is to take things very slow, and to be respectful. This is as much for your benefit as the girl's. Someone younger is likely not as mentally and emotionally ready for a relationship. You are a little more ripe-for-the-pickin', and you've likely had some experience. Don't rule it out though by any means. You might end up to be perfect for one another.
