My name is Alex, I live in a very boring part of the Midwest. I was just posting to say that I really appreciate this network. I have def found some useful information here. I'm kind of nervous about posting and perhaps people finding out I'm on here, which belies some conservative hang-ups I inherited from the Asian-catholic side of my family. This place has been a great way to find stuff out without having to ask embarrasing questions. Sorry in advance to DMW for any spelling/grammar errors. Oh, and you rock, Madame Zora. =D

I&#39;m not sure, really. It&#39;s more of a general apprehension...the internet seems like a very "small world" sometimes. Putting up my pic is a step towards not being so scared.

Okay, what else can I say about myself?

I&#39;m an assistant researcher at my university, helping a professor research oral histories in the area. Luckily, I don&#39;t have to work and do college at the same time (thanx to giving/controlling parents and some grants and scholarships). I&#39;m super interested in ways that people communicate.

I don&#39;t date really at all; I&#39;ve had one gf in college, but that was pretty much it. I&#39;ve lost a lot of weight since my first year, and I&#39;m feeling more comfortable with my body and with talking to women in general, so, that&#39;s good. I&#39;m not a wallflower; I can be the center of attention in a lot of situations. It&#39;s just that I don&#39;t relate to a lot of people romantically.

I dunno what else to talk about...oh yeah&#33; I hate popped collars sooo much. Don&#39;t mean to offend any collar-poppers, but they just really annoy me. It&#39;s gotten to the point where I will un-pop mannequin polo collars in department stores.
