I like a nice chilly bedroom and a thick but lightweight duvet. In the winter I keep a window open and no heat on in the bedroom.

The summers here are very hot and humid and we use AC in the daytime. But I can't abide sleeping in an air conditioned room. I wake up in the middle of the night, all dried out and with a headache.

What we do is have a ceiling fan going and a small very quiet fan blowing on my feet. Can't stand hot feet!

Hong Kong here, so mostly hot and humid weather, like it cold air-con and when I'm sleeping, my feet always stick out from under the warm feather duvet!!

I think lopo means that without an automatic thermostat setting in the air-con, it will keep getting cooler unless you turn it off. It might be more correct to say when it cools too much rather than cooling up.

I am like so many others here. At night when I am sleeping it has to be cool to cold in the room. Otherwise I feel like I am sweating to death. It is not unusual for me to have my feet hanging out to make me cool. My partner is the opposite he tends to turn the a/c up to make it 78 in the house at night and in the winter he turns up the heat to be like 78. He wonders why I wake up in the morning grouchy!

I used to like it freezing cold- so cold you have to piss. Back then you'd find me under 2 blankets the AC cranked up and loving it, or during the day, standing in front of the unit with my fingers going numb from the chill. I guess age or health (or those outrageous Con Ed bills) made me change. I first noticed this when on the phone a few summers back. I was dripping sweat and felt strangely comfortable.

I tend to run the AC a few hours here and there in the summer, when the temps climb over 80 or the indoor temp hits 90 (I have an eastern exposure and get the first heating beams of the day). At night in the summer, I use an oscillating fan, never sleep with the AC on these days.

I think I run a little hotter than average, as I'm always a little overheated. For that reason I like my place to be meat locker cold. Even with A/C on, I need a fan directly on me at night.

do you like your apartment/bedroom/to be super cold, cold, cool, warm etc?

i like my apartment to be relatively cool, but my bedroom must be even cooler.

i personally like a very cool bedroom,...but especially at night when i am sleeping...i like it almost super cold then...it is nice to be able to get under the warm covers.

i have always found that strange, however...very hot outside, very cold room, get under covers to be warm  ...

ah well...you?
My whole home is cold. I’m an incredibly ‘hot’ person so need to be cool all the time. As for the bedroom it needs to be super cold! My bf is accommodating thankfully but I’d sleep in a fridge if I could!

I can't sleep if it is hot. I sleep with a fan on low, circulating air most of the year and only use a sheet. Rem's side of the bed has multiple blankets, by contrast :joy: We found a good balance for both our comfort levels for temperature pretty early on, thankfully. I don't tend to like to actually have the air conditioning running while I try to sleep, but I'll let it run for 30-60 minutes before bed time in the summer. It's to noisy to go all night, at least this particular air conditioner.

About 60-65F works for me for sleeping. I'm much more flexible about temperature at other times, but overall prefer cooler than hotter.

Same for me. 65F/18C is ideal sleeping temperature for me. I have the AC going in the summer and a fan going in the winter. I like to keep air moving.

I the the winter, I have all the heating vents closed off in my room and the window cracked open, too. I keep the door closed so I don’t freeze out the rest of the house and raise the heating bill. If I get cold, I just pile on the blankets. It helps my migraines to have an icy room.

Hi I have almost the same problem, in the summer time in my workshop the temperature reaches 110 degrees on Faranheit.
I completely agree with you, I love it when the rooms are excellent, so there are several air conditioners in my house. But recently there was a disaster! I have broken one of the air conditioners, and now the temperature in my house is broken. I don't know what to do even. I called my best friend and asked him to find people who understood this. He told me to call this service Marvellous Aircon Servicing Singapore - Affordable, Reliable & Professional. Tomorrow they will make an air conditioner for me, and I will finally be able to exist usually in my house. I wonder what happened to my air conditioner, because of what it does not turn on now?

ww,no one is likely going to reply

but
does anyone kniw of,or have a link to

a mini refrigeration type unit, that double acts like a real good air conditioning unit
apparently fill it with water, and it can/will keep your room fairly cold
ie
possibly better than a couple of those desk/pedestal fans

again.... oh no matter ...ha

claim you 'no understadee' be the easy way out

I have tinnitus and insomnia, so I sleep with a box fan blaring on high blowing right on me... I've been sleeping like that since age 7.

I absolutely cannot go to sleep if I am too hot.

Doesn't everyone wanna be Flashy's roommate? An intellectual weed smoker who is simultaneously wealthy and keeps a cold apartment at night? The dream roommate! lol!!!!

Since someone else already brought this thread back to life...

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the fan "blowing right on" him is the cause of his tinnitus.
