And who is the Commander in Chief?????

Isn't it still Usama bin Laden? I mean he's still the cash cow for them anyway.

And haven't we heard this same line about the Taliban? Only for them to pop up and take over half of Pakistan (for a minute)?

Great!

Now, let's see... there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq before the illegal invasion.

And now somehow reducing their numbers is a victory?

THERE WOULD BE NO AL QAEDA IN IRAQ IF WE DIDN'T INVADE.

Killing a leader just means that they get replaced by the next in line.

Terrorism is an idea and you cannot kill an idea... and ideas can't run out of money.

The war on terror is creating terrorists MUCH faster than we can kill them, it's simple science and is also just plain common sense.

There is a reason why military intelligence is an oxymoron. Military men have little ability to empathize with others and likewise have little ability to anticipate their enemy's actions. It's the military equivalent of basically looking under the streetlamp for your car keys just because the light is good. The fucking keys are across the street where there is no light, but the drunk continues to look under the street lamp because that is the only place where they can see. The drunk will NEVER find his keys looking under the street lamp and we will never reduce terrorism by "waging war" against it.

It's a Punch and Judy show while they lift our wallets and go through all of our communications.

The war on terror is largely so that rich men can line their pockets and governments can increase their abilities to control their populations.

Don't be so fucking naive Star.

Can you not see that the war on terror is the new hit reality show?

How did the war on drugs turn out?

Overcrowded prisons, an increase in drug use and trafficking and an increase in worldwide drug related violence is how we are "winning".

You are soaking it up like a sponge and cheering it on like it is the goddamn NBA semifinals. And all the while harping about "big government" and developing a serious fixation towards Obama.

The war on terror is the BIGGEST EXAMPLE OF BIG GOVERNMENT THAT THIS FUCKING EARTH HAS TO OFFER, yet you lap it up like a thirsty hound.

WAKE THE HELL UP STAR!!!!!!

Organizations like Al Queda are 100% reliant on the strength of their leadership. If the West is creating more enemies amongst the Iraqi civilians, they are about as much threat as a class of pre-schoolers if they don't have a resourceful and effective leadership.

The leadership arranges for the financing, training, planning and strategizing. Thirty-four of forty-two of the leaders have been destroyed - that's 80%.

Their capabilities to wreak large-scale destruction are fading away quickly. Their army of soldier-rank terrorists are effectively helpless without funding and regimented training and a coordinated leadership effort.

We won't be hearing much from or about Al Queda ever again.

You mean the 70-something, 6'6" dude on kidney dialysis?

He's dead, bro.

hmm..I realize FOX NEWS has not mentioned this one, often overlooked and forgotten 50 years of American History..BUT..If I may remind and suggest going back to the USA Governments involvement with the American Indians during the later part of the 1800's...
"Read" (I know it's hard) "Bury My heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown and "Black Elk Speaks" by John G. Neihardt..
Resources and technology have changed..Fundamental Tactics and Strategy are spot on the same!

"We won't be hearing much from or about Al Queda ever again." Who are you fooling? The Israelis used an imaginary link to Al Queda as an excuse for their piracy and kidnapping only last week. Just like GWB and Cheney and friends used Saddam's supposed link to Al Queda as an excuse to justify the invasion of Iraq so it will go on. Americans and their allies love to have someone to hate - while there are so few pinko commies left, Al Queda will continue to fit the bill just nicely

They'll just rally behind a different extremist figure, label themselves as something else and continue attacking. But yeah... mission accomplished, right?

Like tripod said, "Terrorism is an idea and you cannot kill an idea".

An idea isn't worth a shit without money behind it.

I'd like to point out that the person who created this discussion hasn't a clue about what they're talking about - getting the spelling right for one would be a start.
hint, if you're so ignorant not to know how to spell something, you in all likelihood do not know enough to have a well rounded opinion of it.

And if you'd like the most correct English transliteration, it's al-Qa'ida. Arabic for 'the base.'
an organisation is not the word i'd use to describe this loose entity of Radical Islam. we know barely anything of its structure, the most we know is of the flows of money, but identifying the transferring with known no access point is impossible; think of every internet cafe in a city like New York, London, Jakarta, Delhi, or Damascus.
It's a global movement, its not organised like most fringe terrorist organisation of yore, top down. we know for one it's not organised like that, and because of its very decentralised nature no matter how many leaders they kill, cells still can take orders, act of their own autonomy, and remain hidden.
If it were something there would be over 15000 people working on it in the FBI alone let alone every other defence force around the world with fears over the non-state actor.

Perhaps brush up on your punctuation and capitalization before you start handing out English lessons.

Note to all: Some whiney cynic sitting around in Australia is a better source than the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in matters regarding Al-Qaeda.

Just fyi.
