It's OK, I do believe you, and I don't mean to make fun of your friend, it must be horrible. It just a typical cliché when someone describes some embarrassing health issues then says, "asking for a friend".

That's low. 2.3 ng/ml is equal to 230 ng/dL. The lower threshold is usually 250 ng/dL.
Fun fact: my testosterone, without ever doing anything to my testicles, came in at 81ng/dL or .81ng/ml. Low enough even an 80 year old man would have problems and I was mid to early 20s. Just barely outside the range for a normal FEMALE.
It really sucks so I hope he can get the proper treatment/replacement and not need to jump through so many hoops like I keep having to do. (Currently without treatment! Yaay...)
