I think, some models do shoot the half frontal photos or unintentional frontal in risqué shoots like this with respectable in the industry photographers, but the models especially if they are current in demand are protected by their modelling agencies who would discuss with the model and photographer if the full frontal photos would enhance or damage their demand from clients. Elia was not as booked as Alessio in terms of mainstream fashion shoots. Maybe Alessio has a possible deal with companies that depend on families to buy their products like Nestlé or McDonalds. Also on a personal viewpoint, Elia is a shower, but Alessio (based on his speedo photos) is a grower. The only way they would be proud to show his full frontal is if it is at least a semi, but then it would be considered porn by some uptight fuddy duddy.

Yes, he could be. Not all Italian men are small though. Elia Cometi is Italian and he's not small. Northern Italians are usually above average.
