I've just completed going through every 387 pages in this topic. Thought I'd make some personal observations.
1) It's striking that over the 15 years or so of the threads beginings the same topics repeat many, many times. Underwear for big dicks and balls, Circumcision, Gym peeking, Gym showers, Stolen underwear, and more. In total I think its about 20 main recurring topics. My conclusion is that over the years and decades the same questions and curiosity continue to fascinate and interest the LPSG members (and surely many who are not) which seems to indicate our curiosity about these often "unspoken" topics is eternal and that LPSG has provided a great service for open and frank discussion to satisfy our curiosity and opinions.
2) The moral and indignation police are alive and well. Sometimes corrective comments are completely understandable in extreme cases of racism, homophobia etc. but, often it's purely personal opinion paraded as what is "right" and "wrong". This inevitably leads many times to exchanges which are personal insults and not on topic. My opinion is those type of arguments should be "taken outside" because they usually destroy the initial genuine intention of the posting and are, at the least, extremely boring.
Also there are the "experts" and "educators" Now surely some amongst the membership may well be medical, scientific, etc. experts, but often the definitive pronouncements are based on heresay, opinion, or as is often said "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" It would be nice if any advice on serious subjects is carefully investigated before posting to avoid misunderstandings or even possible unfortunate consequences.
Every member has the right to express their opinion on any subject and I dont believe it should be anything else but maybe on the subjects above a bit of reflection time before posting rather than a knee jerk reaction to something that offends might keep the general atmosphere and the site an even more pleasant place to be.
3) I'm no English expert but it was sometimes fairly shocking the number of times that words such as there and their and many others were misused which could not be put down to typo's. In my professional life I work with, mostly, people for whom English is not their first language. The great thing about English is that it's very forgiving. I'm just grateful I can use this great language in pretty much every country of the world and be understood instead of learning, in my case, at least 10 languagesto be able to function. As long as the intention and point is clear the importance of pronunciation, spelling and grammar is less important and so it is I believe here.
So, this is not a rant about grammar and spelling it's simply an observation on the way people communicate.
4) Just an idea. I wonder if the sites powers that be might consider consolidating the postings on identical topics e.g. "advice on underwear" into one. There are probably good reasons not to but it might "clean up" a lot of the dead threads and perhaps revive them. I commented on some threads that had last been posted on at least 10 years ago. Believe me going through every page of an over a nearly 400 topic takes quite a lot of endurance and determination!
I'll be keeping up with postings as I think its a great thread and am now looking for another topic that will be equally as interesting, arousing, frustrating and humerous but I think I'll take a few days off first!
