Sheesh people, grow up and get that prudish corn cob out of your butt....[/quote]
There are really two issues here, as I see it:
I haven't heard anyone dispute that US broadcast standards are sensible and fair -- it's completely bizarre to me that the farting horse is okay, but the naked breast isn't.
On the other hand -- I don't think it's 'prudish' or having a 'corncob up my butt' to insist that Jackson's fame not give her a free pass on this. I can't even talk my way out of a speeding ticket: If I exposed myself on national television, I'd probably be in jail right now. I think the lawsuit is entirely reasonable in its nature (although not so reasonable in its assessment of damages). Why shouldn't Janet Jackson have to face the music for the stunt?
Change the rules if you want -- write the FCC and lobby to get the standards brought into the 21st century -- I'll totally support you on that. But don't call me a prude because I expect the rich and famous to take responsibility for their actions just like you and I have to.

| 1. | Are US television standards antiquated and capricious? |
| 2. | Should Janet Jackson be exempt from having to follow the rules? |
