Alternatives to Craigslist

Im just curious if there are any additional forums for NSA discreet sexual encounters. I am from SF and craigslist here used to be great and easy but lately it seems lik there is a lot of spam and pic collectors and not people interested in hooking up for a quick casual encounter. Anyone know of any other places to look? Have you found success here?

How hard is it for a woman (especially one who looks like you) to get laid?

I'm under the impression that no woman post to craigslist because they can meet someone at a bar. Plus, I've looked at the ads- I can't tell the real from the fake. w4m posts in the bay area are twice as common as the m4w - so I don't know.

As a woman, do you get a lot of replies to your post? Can you tell, they're all copy+paste jobs?

it's usually easier to post your own ad on craigslist and ask all people responding to type a specific word you choose in the subject line, like oh say "sunflower". thus when you get replies all the ones in your inbox with the subject "sunflower" you will know or from real people that are interested. all the ones that just hold the title of your post as a subject line you'll know are either spam bots or people that didn't bother to really read your ad.

Well, it depends who I want to get laid by. I'm cute, sure, but I'm also androgynous and punkish and have hairy armpits (etc.), so I'm not the type of girl who dudes at a sportsbar tend to hit on - which is fine, because I'm not looking to date jocks. I have an awesome boyfriend that I'm in an open relationship with, so I get laid pretty much every day and therefore only post to Craigslist when I'm looking to fulfill a particular fetish - like, uh, ridiculously huge cocks.

It's pretty easy to tell cut-n-paste replies from genuine ones. Real ones tend to respond to what I've said in my ad, while fake ones tend to list all their attributes along with a generic "saw your ad on Craigslist; you look great" type of leader.

Being female means that all of my Casual Encounters ads get flagged within hours, which I once made a post about here. Men are so used to seeing fake ads that they just assume any biological female looking for sex has gotta be a spambot. I find it hilarious that they'd think I was one, though, because no spambot in their right mind is gonna be like "Well, I'm an AA cup and unshaven and I have short brown hair and a little belly." They're gonna go straight for the least-common-denominator T-n-A tall blonde cliche in the interest to attracting as many dudes to their porn site as possible.

check out adam4adam, it's a free hook up site, and I've heard adultfriendfinder works too but I've never tried that one. I guess you just gotta take all of them with a grain of salt. Craigslist seems to work pretty well usually, but there have also been times when every response I get will be a fake, flake, pic collector or spam. I do wish this site worked better for hook ups though.

I guess it also depends on how picky one is. All the Casual Encounters ads I've placed have generated plenty of responses, but I haven't liked the vast majority of them. On the rare occasions I've found someone cute there was always some other dealbreaker - the fact that they were cheating on their wife, horrible spelling/grammar (yes, it matters!), etc.

I've tried several dating sites when I became 30 (you probably know how bad of a reputation being 30 and single is) and desperate to get a steady and the only one that had real people was match.com and craigslist. However, they too have their shares of pic collectors, spammers, webcamwhores, and scammers. I haven't had success with this site yet. I did my first gay experience from craigslist but the guy was a big jerk and was abusive so I beat him up for the attempt at hitting me. I haven't met a woman from craigslist yet as none responded to me. I am actually the type of guy that sounds worse on paper than he really is. If Vernan Ward (aka Minnie Me) put an ad up before he became popular, I bet you that no woman would respond to his ad because they wouldn't want to date a 2 foot tall man. But women meet him in person and say he's adorable.
No woman from any dating site responded to my ad and only the types listed above responded and I delete them because I knew they were fakes. I met the woman from match.com in one of their sponsored parties and she said I was cute and went out with me. I asked her about my ad and she said my ad didn't sound interesting although I had people proofread it before posting it. I listed myself as Asian, 5'5", muscular build but the women on that site was looking for 6' tall, Caucasian, Black or Latino. I guess Asians weren't that popular back in the 90s so basically that Ad word ruled me out from most women's shopping list of men and my ad did poorly on dating sites.
At least now, Eastern Asians are no longer the threat and the new whipping boy are the middle eastern men since 9/11. It's still not pleasant that people hold these bigotries but Eastern Asians do better since.
Perhaps craigslist, adult friendfinder, or this site should also set parties for guys like myself. I don't like to lie and say I am 6' tall then the girl who responds tries to look for a tall guy and sees me and passes me up because I don't match the description. Some guys just do better visually than on paper.

Darkseid - if a girl's specifically into tall guys, let her have 'em. There are plenty of petite women who would be into a guy your height, and probably even a few taller women who don't mind dating a shorter guy. I think it's funny how guys gripe about women only being into tall men, but most of them have a similar psychological need to date girls who are shorter than them.

If a woman said your ad doesn't sound interesting, it's not necessarily about your physical stats. It could be that your personality didn't come across. If someone seems funny and interesting, I might overlook details about their appearance that wouldn't be my first choice - for instance, a blonde guy who's vegan is going to stand a good chance at geting my attention even though I'm not especially into blondes, and if someone mentions one of my favorite musical artists it might be intriguing enough to overlook the fact that I usually don't go for muscles. Figure out who you want to appeal to (sporty types, professional types, bohemian types) and market yourself to that group. Whatever you do, don't blame it on your ethnicity - if women are small-minded enough to write off Asian guys because of their race, you wouldn't want to be involved with them anyway. I've dated two Chinese-American guys and was pretty crazy about one of them. We broke up because he was a jerk, not because of his heritage.

I probably am not the best ad writer but I think physical face to face parties would definitely weed out fakes and as a bonus shine my personality to them as they personally meet me for the first time instead of being tossed into a category like short, tall, white, black, etc. In fact I am proud to be short, Asian, and athletic but I feel comfortable meeting face to face more than writing an ad and I think physical parties work for match.com and will work for other dating sites like craigslist or lpsg. Just my 2 cents.
A few members here did set up some gatherings here in NYC but only guys showed up. We need some girls to show up as well if you are into hung guys. But at least some of the gay guys hooked up.
