What I have tried to show, and apparently is incomprehensible to YOU and many others, is that trump managed to connect with a segment of the population, which Hillary chose to ignore, and did so WITHOUT a connection to racism. Am I defending every comment he made? Nope. Did he make inappropriate comments, in my opinion? Yep, but that's me. But you cannot seem to get past the fact that a large enough segment of the population might have voted him into office based upon something other than you see as your # 1 hot button. And that, BS, is gall.

What I HAVE said is that bigots and racists are part of Trump's constituency, that they voted for a person who conducted a hate filled, divisive, bigoted campaign that demonized minorities and people of other faiths. I have said that his election serves to empower hate groups (it's already happening) empowers that kind of ideology, and places a fascist agenda in the White House.
Whatever criticisms you and your crew may have of Obama or Hillary, manufactured or otherwise, NEITHER have EVER promoted an AGENDA OF HATRED for people of other races, religions, genders, or sexual orientation.

Obama became the president in 2008 and the first non-white to hold the position. Apparently the BEST person for the prior two hundred and nineteen years was a white and male. And 100% of the people had one choice.

Say guys, I'm curious how much you think the media contributed to this outcome. I was on a military post as these results unfurled, and the reactions were the same as I'm reading here.
I say that because I've been working with some military mental health analysts prior this election on a project regarding the impact of media social media has on soldiers with PTSD.
And when Donald Trump came down that escalator announcing his bid for presidency, our data took a tail spin terms of the direction media coverage was headed.
So with all the passion and vigor some have on the results of the election, a lot of us in the research group noticed the absence of culpability from the media and their influence, good bad or indifferent had on the impact of the election. & I'm no rabid, media hating guy either.
In essence, there were contentious debates the media had to cover, I get that. But the outright obsession the media had on a celebrity who self reports using the media to forward his agenda is still breathtaking.
I'll start, a little.
I just found some of the most respected journalists I've admired for years step outside themselves with their personal commentaries calling this election galling.
Granted, I may have agreed with their message, still I was surprised when, to use a military phrase, they stepped outside their lane. The banner BREAKING NEWS was used for every oddball not related thing to the election wasting airtime for HOURS.
To quote a poster here, the shock of Trump's win was so noticeable to all covering the news on both sides the isle.
That said, today was the first chance I had to watch any TV since Monday, believe it or not, and I wanted to put my fist through the TV at some of the same TV personalities projecting blame, asking how did THEY ( other sources) get it wrong? i.e. pollsters democrats etc.,
& I'm like, you mother fuckers!! ON CNN I thought I was watching Jerry Springer or the real Housewives, egging on fights, demanding people step down or quit for their politically incorrect tweets.
So these TV personalities, with all of their viewers relying on their journalistic credibility believing this was shoe in, had the temerity to ask how did everybody else get it wrong , and who should lose their job?

So to me America died when the media turned this election into cesspool.

Most experts think exactly the opposite actually. Then again those experts are no Americans, just Germans, Syrians, French, English etc. So what do they know, right? They agree though that with Clinton it most likely would have escalated.
Did you ever encounter just one politician who actually did what he preached before election? I for one have not. Hell, Trump already changed his mind on lots of things hours after it was clear he won. So yeah, you actually don't know what he will do in his presidency. Unless you are a clairvoyant.
I mean I am not happy about Trump as president. But i am fucking happy the warmongering Clinton isn't. In my book Trump just is the lesser evil.

People complaining that the election was rigged haha, the DNC took money from the banks to get rid of Bernie by having super-delegates choose Hillary over Bernie. Of course paying Fox News to label Bernie as a communist instead of a democratic socialist also helped out the big greedy corporations. When people in the US hear the word socialist they flashback to 1970s China or the Soviet Union. But democratic socialist countries include places like Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Before you scream that these countries don't get anything done please checkout where Volvo, IKEA, Lego, Saab Aerospace, Bang & Olufsen, Scania Trucks, Statoil, Ericsson systems and Maersk come from, then check the number of people living in those countries. Image the US being that... aha - got it- now get a new Bernie and fix this crap.
Thanks for your input. But you are off base in your thinking you know Americans. When will Europeans get through their heads America does NOT want the European brand of socialism. Not any part. Not the taxes. Not the healthcare. Not any of it. And honestly, you give Fox way too much credit for the Bernie demise. That was all Hillary's doing, and her political machine. Republicans and conservatives were more focused on their own party and issues, moreso than the in-fighting between Hillary and Bernie, though it did make for interesting fodder.
Spin, and rewriting history. I suppose what is incomprehensible to me is how that base didn't transfer to Hillary, given your pointing out the traditional voting patterns of this demographic as Democrat. Oh, because she wasn't the best person? Whatever, moving on.
