I know there are probably tons of topics on here about circumcision but I wanted to talk about this documentary called "American Circumcision."
I just watched it on Netflix so if you're interested in seeing it, you can go there.
I'm cut. I love my penis. If you asked me if I wish I was uncut, I'd probably say no. If I was currently uncut, would I get myself cut? No. Do I think people should get their baby boys cut? No. I still love my penis, though. I never really thought about the issue until I was an adult and I had heard about the activists that are really against it. After educating myself on the matter, I do think it's barbaric to force that kind of procedure on a baby. If you want to have it done as an adult with your own consent, go right ahead. So that's my stance on the issue. I'm not scarred for life (well, maybe I am literally) but I think it's a practice that should not be done on babies anymore.
I thought this documentary did a good job of presenting both sides of the argument. Though, sometimes it was rather confusing. One doctor will present a strong argument against and then they'll cut to another doctor who will present a strong argument for. So, it's easy to see why people would be torn on the issue. My biggest complaint about the documentary is the censorship. It's a medical documentary. About penises. You can show me a fucking penis without blurring it out. This is not airing on network television. They show an actual circumcision taking place but the whole thing is blurred out. How am I supposed to get fully educated on it if you won't even show it to me?
