The rumor is that Ellen cannot abide Simon's brash, often abrasive tone he uses with the contestants.
Having watched Ellen's show off and on, she is a HUGE music fan. She is very passionate about it in fact and has struck up some of the most unlikely friendships with rap artist and others in the music industry. (Beyonce being another one)
I think it was a natural choice to ask Ellen to join the show and a good one.
She is a positive influence there on the panel and at times can offer comedic relief. This is why she has been so successful as a talk show host, she doesn't dwell on the negative and genuinely makes the effort to take the high road.
These are just my observations of Ellen in general. (I do miss Paula being there and I will miss Simon next year.)
There were some stellar performances the past two nights and some not so stellar. I have my suspicions about who will go home as well.
Some performances were just horrible. The reworking of some songs did NOT work.
The country assed kid that invited Simon to his "church" needs to go. He was pitchy and all over the place, that kind of thing won't cut it. Simon was right, it was a bad performance and he thrashed that song.
