The last 3 are really good. It's going to be tough and I'm not even going to try to pick who the winner will be. We're splitting hairs now. I will say though, that if Bo comes out with an album....I'm getting it. I love his voice. It's a lot like Jim Croce, IMO.

Okay, Here is a little mini-poll within the thread:

Who's version of "If You Don't Know Me By Now Was Better"?

Carrie or Anthony?

I was so completely shocked when the judges tore Carrie apart! And then when Paula and Randy praised Anthony I nearly hit the roof!!! Loved Simon's comment to Anthony "like Woody Allen playing the lead in "Shaft""

While I think that Carries is fantastic (as is all of the top three) I must admit I thought that Anthony's version was better.

I am usually in agreement with the judges, however this week, they were all wrong. They gave credit where it wasn't due, tore people up when they did do good, and overlooked some horrible mistakes on others.

BTW, Kelly Clarkson had 3 different songs on Billboard's top 40 last week! That rivals many of the longstanding established musicians.

Well ,

It's over! The cute, Okahoma ,Reese Witherspoon lookalike, Carrie Underwood is the new American Idol. Would I have picked her?NO! I loved Bo's sound and attitude from the first. But Our boy Bo will land on his feet. Clive Davis has already signed him for a contract so all I have to do is wait for his album to come out. I did like the final show however. I think they shoud release the album of "Idols with their Idols" The singing was wonderful and the blends masterful. Now there were some cases that I could have lived without but all in all it was a wonderful program.

Yup... It's all over. Since Nadia was booted off, and Anthony was booted off, I was torn between Bo and Carrie. Bo will, indeed, do fine as a rocker. The one that will surely benefit from the actual title will be Carrie.

I thought the finale was the best one yet. It was funny, lots of music, etc. I was surprised that with all the former Idol contestants, we did not see the original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, or subsequent Idols Rueben, Fantasia, Clay etc.

Poking fun at the Paula Idol Controversy was a hoot (which in gay slang means funny, I did not imply that Paula was an owl, liked owls, or resembled an owl).

Looking forward to the new season!

Now, I have to watch Lost.

Nadia was my favourite as well. I was pullin' for Bo even though I knew that Carrie would win the competition hands down. I suppose she is the country Kelly Clarkson. I too enjoyed the Idols singing with their idols with the exception of Kenny G. The highlight of the evening for me was watching Bo sing with his ultimate band Lynard Skynard. That must have been amazing for him. My crystal ball also tells me that Mikaela (sp?) will be the next Joan Rivers!

major_7 and TexAssgirl -- I agree with you re. Anthony's version of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" being better than Carrie's. Anthony's sweet voice is just magnified by his sweet face, for me. A blond cutie :excl: I agree with what's been said about Carrie and Bo and I had my mind made up that regardless of the country's decision, I wasn't going to be upset about the choice. That being said, I do prefer Bo's rock to Carrie's country leaning, but both voices are spectacular.

I am SOOOO glad it is over, and dread the next week of "post-game" shows about it. I can't stand the ads for this show, let alone watch the actual time slot. It annoys the hell out of me that one of our local "news" broadcasts (a Fox affiliate, of course) puts a full 5-minute-or-more segment of AI on the morning, mid-day, evening, and late news broadcasts, and presents it as real news. Doesn't this belong on "Entertainment Tonight?" They spend more "news" time on AI than they do on the war in Iraq. Don't tell me to watch another channel - I don't have cable TV or dish TV, and this is the only channel that comes in clearly enough to watch the news & weather.

Heh,

Ms Leslie, Ihavent forgotten you! I have my return call list! LOL! Now, I love Bo Bice because that voice reminds me of my childhood. He sounds eerily like the lead singer for "Blood, Sweat and Tears!" He also has a hint of the Darius Rucker sound we love in "Hootie and The Blow Fish". His look is totally real and sexy. Now I usually dont like "soul patches" (dont get me started! LOL! ) but his only make him look hot! Go Bo! That teaming with Lynard Skynard was like a hot knife through butter, The ultimate aural comfort food!

Here are some sound bites for comparison:
