Im shocked by all the love for Adam Lambert. I heard him sing throughout American Idol and even now I think he's horrible. On American Idol he would hit these really high notes and it always made me cringe. A loud shrilling scream. Ackkkk.

First of all I have to confess that I only watch AI on the night the winner is named. ( I just cant go through the drama of the whole season)
From my perspective with a somewhat inside understanding about the entertainment industry is that the named winner does not always have what it takes market their talent into a career.
Looking at history Antasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, have achieved greater success post idol. It's a matter of really understanding how to market yourself and being willing to go the distance to do whatever it takes to make it. It's called show business because it's a business that requires a lot of work and dedication and from where I'm sitting some Idol winners just did not have it.

The only song by Phillip that I liked was Volcanoes, to be honest. Mind you, it was one of my favorite songs of the entire season... But I didn't like anything else by him, personally. Yes, he does have a distinct voice and he is rather pretty (well, at least his eyes are... They always sparkle and draw me in.)

I do think Jessica had the better voice, but I think we'll hear of her in a couple years, anyway. Just because she didn't win AI doesn't mean she's not going to be successful.

I think that Colton was very good last night. They gave him a lot of solo parts and he carried many of the group numbers. Joshua and Fantasia were awful, especially Fantasia. She just screamed her way through that number. I didn't think that Phillip and JOhn Fogarty sounded very good together. Philips voice, while quite unique doesn't really blend all that well with others. He has a limited range and can get very "pinched" sounding on the high notes.

I still like Chris Allen and hope he can have more of a career.
