The republicans have used Jimmy Carter as a running mate for every Democrat candidate for every office since 1980. Since Carter didn't get anyone killed, I think you can see W's name brought up again and again, at least until the killing stops.

Obama didn't start the move toward a European stylye socioeconomic state. It began under your guy, Teddy Roosevelt, more than a 100 years ago. Continued under Wilson and pretty much became the norm for every president from FDR to Bill Clinton, yes-in cluding The Original "One" Nixon. I don't know what kind of goal W had. Total Screwup seems to have been his only discernable plan.
