I was planning on bringing my firearms and sidearms in to the country as well.

Shotguns and sidearms are quite ok. But if you carry than six dildos at a time, they'll lock you up! LMAO!

Got that right, Monster. And I should be soo scared. My fbuddies came over to watch both games this afternoon and celebrate my 39th BD. One of gifts was a dildo. Regarded it more or less as a gag gift cause they know I won't bottom for anyone. On the other hand, maybe it was a suggestion. Am not sure of the current sodomy law, but do know that it's been both enforced and challenged in the courts in recent years. Advice: Just don't get caught.

Careful man, sounds like entrapment.

I wonder how they thought they where going to enforce such laws?
Post peeping toms outside peoples bedroom windows?
Actually the sodomy law is still there because Texas has such a high number sexual assaults.
It is so hard to prove rape in Texas that the only way to make the charge stick is too prove sodomy which the women -or man-(usually a boy)cannot give consent for.
I feel like it should be overlooked for people who want to do it.
I was very concerned about this law possibly being overturned in Texas.
Some men there are comfortable with the idea of rape and knowing they will get away with it.
It may not be fair that gay people would be oppressed but I think the law is still necessary in Texas.

It's amazing how many American citizens have so little understanding of how our system of jurisprudence actually functions.

The state law was challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the Lawrence vs. Texas case. In 2003, the Court issued a ruling in the matter which overturned the conviction and established that no state can prosecute anyone under such a statute. The decision not only freed gays in Texas from such stupidity, but in the entire USA.

Obviously I have had a lot of other things to focus on.I'm not an attorney so I do not take note of every new legal decision.

I'm sure it was mostly rapists they must have let out then.

Why don't you look up how many freaking rapists got off then?

I will be contacting RAINN to see what effect this had.

Rapists?!? What the flying fuck are you talking about?

Nobody here is talking about rapists.

Were you even paying attention to Lawrence?

If purchased out of state, an individual could legally own up to and including 5 dildoes for personal use. Owning 6 or more was considered evidence of "possession with intent to deliver."

No joke. That's the way the laws were actually structured.

That does sound like a joke. Someone goes into a shop and buys 6 dildoes, and the cops are following. Once you cross state lines he pulls you over and busts you for possession of 6 didoes. lmao
If you see the cop coming you could fling one out the window.

anal sex and oral sex are illegal in most states because it falls under sodomy.

If that were the case then why are people who make porn not arrested? Are they making it in the states where it's legal? It would have to be only vaginal porn.

No shit. You just have to kind of wonder what it was like when the Texas legislature hammered out the details on this one:

"Should it depend on the size?"
"No, it shouldn't; a 14" double-header counts the same as a 4-incher."
"Ok, well, how many is too many dildoes?"
"One is too many."
"How about if we make it total combined inches? No more than 35 inches total? That way, they could have several small ones, or just a couple of big ones..."
"No, let's make it 4."
"An odd number would be better. 3."
"Well, now, I can think of 3 places a woman could hide some o' them dill-doos. Let's say 5's the limit, 6 is intent to distribute."
"Fair enough. So, we're all agreed, I think. Purchase or sale of dildoes in the great state of Texas shall henceforth be illegal, and possession limited to 5. All in favor?"

I'm not sure that's quite accurate that oral and anal are illegal in most states. The laws are as variable as they are stupid; in some states, it depends upon whether it's same-gender people doing it, in some states, it depends upon whether or not they are married, in some states, it depends on how old they are.

Just wear a cowboy hat and chaps, and no one will notice that dildo in your ass.
:biggrin1: Or do as another famous Texan does... use diversionary tactics to deflect attention away from your crimes.

"Warrantless wiretaps are legal if I say they are legal... hey, look, we just upped the alert level to Orange!"

"Pay no attention to that dildo hangin outta my hole... hey, look, there's Lindsay Lohan doing a naked crabwalk!"

**Extra points to whoever first identifies the Lohan reference!

That's what the other guy said. I didn't think so anymore, but in some states it's still illegal for men and women to live together without being married; laws they never remove from the books. My dad said people used to get arrested for living together in the 1940's. They weren't thrown in jail or anything, but fined and told to live apart. The neighbors would usually turn them in.

Well, no, it's not what he said. The point I'm trying to make is that saying "oral and anal sex are illegal in most states" is not accurate, because the state laws are so varied (even though many of those laws were invalidated by the Lawrence case.)

It's been a couple of years since I researched it, and I'm not going to research it again, but I seem to recall that Arkansas repealed (or significantly revised) its sodomy law before Lawrence. A quick perusal of Georgia law still on the books reveals that any sexual intercourse between two people who are not legally married to each other is illegal, as is any oral or anal or masturbatory action between any people, married or not. In some states, oral or anal is illegal under a certain age, but legal over that age. In some states, the age of consent is determined by whether or not the participants are virgins (!). In some states, heterosexual oral is legal, homosexual oral is not. In some states, sex toys are legal, and in others, they are not. In some states, missionary position intercourse is legal, other positions are not. In some states, bestiality is legal, as long as it is not for profit. In Indiana, it is illegal for a woman to undress in front of a photograph of a man.

:biggrin1:

On second thought, I may do my research again, and start a thread with the most humorous, contradictory, discriminatory, idiotic, and unconstitutional sex laws on the books around the country.

The law was almost never actually enforced before it was overturned for the very reason that enforcing it is kind of...gross. In this case, Lawrence & Garner's next door neighbor had a vendetta against them, and made a 911 call claiming there was a man with a gun going crazy in their apartment. So a cop burst through the door, gun drawn, and arrested the pair for going crazy with their pistols. Sad story, but it's lucky for everyone that these particular arrestees were not going to pay their fines and went all the way to the Supreme Court.

Texas legislates unenforcable morality not because they actually have a strong feelings against sodomy but primarily because politians in the name of morality manipulate hatred against easy targets to their own advantage. Like flag burning legistation it's easy to put up such a law with little or no opposition and serves your political aspirations but challenging it by trying to remove one can be death bell to your political career in conservative areas.

I wouldn't be suprised that there are overly punitive laws put on the books against illegal Mexican immigrants in white districts in Texas despite half the population being Hispanic. Placed there by fear mongering politicians.

I doubt most Texans give a flying fuck what other people do in their bedrooms and would concur that it is ridiculous to legislate morality but as we have seen Carl Rove and his ilk do time and again successfully is to manipulate these charged issues to incite fear, bigotry and insecurity to get out the redneck ignoramus vote. Hell, that's how W was elected.

As DC_DEEP and others mentioned, this behavior is by no means unique to Texas. Sadly, it tends to be the modus operandi of politicians across the board.
