I was thinking about his today and all i could come up with is that anal is still associated with cheap/slutty and no waman wants that stigma.
Also the idea that is going to be rough and painful. I assume its because porn always shows anal as being like that whereas most guys know they have to ease into it and take it slow to begin with. I can say ive never had a guy seriously hurt me doing anal and havent had any bad experiences with it..
Im sure if these women would just try it they would like it..but at least give it a go before they judge and say NO
Lee_M, these answers that you have given are pretty accurate.
Another preconceived notion that holds some women back is the idea that poop comes out of that hole, and sometimes resides just inside. They see anal sex as being disgusting and undesirable because of this. Some women even fear that they might have an accident at some point during an anal sex session, and get just a little bit of poop on the guy, his cock, or have a bit show up around her anus. They do not want to chance it. While cleaning out the rectum with a douche sized bottle will work most of the time, for most people, using an enema bag setup is the most effective. The enema is a bag that is filled with warm water and has a long rubber/plastic small hose that extends down to a douche type plactic tip. The bag is filled with warm water, and held above the person, and the warm water flows down the hose by gravity, so it is easy to accomodate the water. Enemas provide health benefits in that they remove old waste and toxins from the body. Many natural health/alternative health practices include cleansing with an enema. Also, some people find the sensation of the warm water going deep to be a bit pleasureable. That pleasure may come from psychological factors also.
Second, I think that a fear of pain/discomfort factors in. Even if they havn't seen porn, most women have gone exploring with a finger or two in their anus. They realize the tightness, and probably assume that a guy would thrust just a vigourously as during vaginal sex, especially if they have a partner that generally hammers away. These women need to realize that slowly working up to thicker and thicker objects is the way to get around bad pain. Also going very slow and taking lots of time to stretch the anus with fingers helps. Last, a good lube can make a world of difference.
Last, I can see how some may not want to be seen as slutty/cheap. This is probably more true in the case of women in the dating scene than women that are married.
We must also remeber that some women just don't enjoy anal penetration even though they've tried it. So, they've gotten past any stigmas or fear of poop, but they just don't like the feeling. I'm sure that some of these women found it to be painful or felt some discomfort, while some of it just didn't care for the feeling.
I have read many polls and surveys on the Internet regarding anal sex. Most studies of the general population show that about 33% or one third of women enjoy anal sex at least some of the time. Even on a forum filled with very conservative people, I've seen that about 33% is the number. Then, on forums with open-minded poeple like this one, the hipforums, and other sex related forums, the percentages are higher. These forums tend to have people that are more liberal when it comes to sex than the general population is. So, if you see that 80% of women on a sex forum vote in favor of anal sex, don't apply this to women you meet in public. A one out of three statistic is a better expectation. I think that about 50%-60% have tried it, but about 33% like it at least some of the time. In the April 2006 issue of Men's Health, the article "What She Really Wants" gave many poll results of a survey of 6,000 men and women. The survey found that 33% of women desired anal sex, while 66% of men did. These results seem to be rounded to a nice break down of one third to two thirds, but I think that it is fairly accurate.
Other interesting results of the Men's Health article:
watching porn- 73% of women, and 78% of men
threesomes- 25% of women, and 55% of men.
