If there can be a thread about Beto,, there can be one about Yang.

Andrew Yang is my choice for President. The centerpiece of his campaign is UBI, but he has a lot of other policies and stances. You can read them here: Our Policies - Andrew Yang for President

What I find really interesting about the critics of Yang is that some of his most vocal critics are on the Left. I have found that some people in the far left are opposed to UBI because they see it as a way preserve capitalism when they want to tear down our capitalist system. Interesting people.

Here is something that feels like a hit piece, but makes me like Yang even more.

Yang proposal could mean prison for owners like Zuckerberg and Buffett

What do you guys think of Andrew Yang?

I read about his proposal that you cited earlier today. It seems like an okay idea, at least half of it.

If a CEO does something that gets them fined by the DOJ, then I don't have problem with them doing jail time. I would be for it if I didn't know that the jail they would go to would be a country club. It would basically be a government funded vacation. And if the company benefits enough from whatever warranted the fine, the most CEOs would do the cost benefit analysis and determine if its worth a vacation. Besides, its not like they couldn't run their business from jail.

I don't get why a CEO would be sent to jail for having to be bailed out. While I do think there have been problems with the bailouts that have happened in the past, I'm not really sure that the blame falls on the CEO at that level. If C-level employees leave after a bailout and get golden parachutes, or get fired and get huge severance packages then that might be different. Though, even that is usually subject to the contact the company has with the employee so they don't always have much of a choice.

I feel like there is a good reason for when the penalty is a fine and when the penalty is jail time. If we don't have a good reason for when it is either of those then we should change the criteria.

Other than that I have heard very little about him. That's probably not a good sign at this point.

I agree that it seems unfair to give people jail time over bailouts.

In terms of his name recognition, he is being ignored by the liberal media establishment. But he has been on Fox news multiple times. I think the people in charge on the Left kinda know who they want and it isn't Yang. But, he is trending up and building support. I don't think he will win, but I do think he will normalize the idea of UBI.

This is a pretty common cry.

Emerson Polling

Andrew Yang is polling at less than 1%. How much attention is "the liberal media establishment" supposed to be paying to candidates who have small bases of support? Vermin Supreme managed to get more than 1% of the Iowa Caucus vote in 2012 and Andrew Yang isn't there yet (I do realize there are more candidates this go around, but the point still stands).

From a candidate point of view, Andrew Yang is still a nobody. It's not "the liberal media establishment"s job to go out and campaign for him.

Even that's a lie though. If you go to Google News, search on "Andrew Yang", and lock the time filter to only the last week, there are multiple pages of news articles about him and his arguments including major news outlets like CBS, New York Times, etc.

Question for you: How much of this opinion about him being ignored did you pick up in your hanging out on redpill / fringe websites?

You're not wrong. He isn't polling very high. So it makes sense that they would focus on other candidates. The thing is, he has gotten some national air play on Fox news. They have had him on multiple times. I don't think he has appeared on CNN once. Why the discrepancy? I'm not saying that they need to feature him on every segment, but they spent a bunch of time on Beto and he is still polling well below 10%. Can't they do a quick interview or something? There is also the way a lot of liberal news sources are trying very hard to link this Asian man with white supremacists or the alt-right.

That isn't to say that all the coverage has been bad, but I don't think it has been fair.

Beto has recently been polling between 5% and 10% and in some prior polls earlier in the campaign was as high as 3rd place.

You don't see a distinct difference between that and 0%? Not even 1%, man. He's rounding to zero percent.

And Andrew Yang has been interviewed on MSNBC. Last I checked MSNBC had a liberal bias.

Andrew Yang has also been interviewed on CNBC. Last I checked CNBC had a moderate-left bias.

I don't know why CNN hasn't interviewed him, but CNN is also lagging in ratings behind Fox and MSNBC both. Maybe their programming decisions have something to do with that.

You didn't bother to answer my question, so I'll just run on the assumption that my suspicions are correct. Please stop circling those goddamn red pill and other fringe websites. You say you like to read those sites out of curiosity, but it's clear you are incapable of trekking their crap back in here on a regular basis. Stop drinking the fucking kool aid.

I don't frequent red pill websites, I used to go sometimes but haven't really been paying attention to them recently. I watch their YouTube videos sometimes, although not as much as I used to. I go to trufemcels on reddit much more than I do any red pill site.

None of the MGTOW/red pill people that I watch have spoken about Andrew Yang or if they have I haven't listened to them. Their opinions are kinda dumb most of the time so I don't care to listen to them ramble about politics.

My opinions are formed by the Andrew Yang Reddit page. Am I drinking the kool aid? Yes. Yes I am. Without look aid drinkers politics would be boring as shit.

Giving everyone $1000 for doing nothing will rise prices of everything and nullify the effect of the UBI in the first place, along with the heightened tax rates to pay for it.

I haven't forgotten about this. You're wrong. But I am at work and can't write a whole thing. But UNI won't increase the money supply, so inflation won't be an issue.

Well it’ll either increase the money supply or be pointless because taxes will have to be raised to pay for it anyway, meaning expenses increase regardless

Drinking the kool aid doesn't mean supporting Andrew Yang.

Drinking the kool aid means subscribing to unfounded conspiracy theories about liberal media blackouts of Andrew Yang that are easily disproven with 2 minutes of googling. Stop sponging up everything Reddit morons have to say and do your own research.

I know what drinking the kool aid means.

I think people are overly dismissive of Andrew Yang. Is it a total media blackout? No. But he isn't getting the press he deserves.
