Before I knew what anime was I watched stuff like Dragonball (z), Yu yu Hakusho, Zoids, Pokemon, Kiki's Delivery Service (ghibli movie) and some stuff I can't remember the name of.

First manga I ever read was Rurouni Kenshin. Really loved it. Way better than any of the stuff I saw on Tv at the time. Then I moved to a new house and we got a new cable box. We had the anime network on demand. It had several animes...broken episodes and not that many. The only two I can remember was Magikano and Mahoromatic. Naruto also first aired in 2002 during that time. But I wanted more. I think that is when it really started. So I looked online for anime...dubs only at the time and to little to no avail. So I gave up and started watching subs. After that point I have never watched anime dubbed, anytime I tried it is like nails down a chalk board. Nothing but cringe, bleh.

Since that time I have watched a ton of series. I'd have to say anime had the biggest impact on me followed by video games.

Currently watching

Taboo Tattoo
Mob Psycho 100
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

Deserves a thread of its own. 〜( ̄▽ ̄〜)

I chose not to add naruto to the list. That show can go fuck itself. I watch it a few times a year because it has soooo many Fillers. No show should ever have a years worth of fillers back to back to back. The real show is pretty good...but the fillers give it a 0/10
There are a lot of shows I still want to go back and watch. I'm also a massive fan of the art. I also hoard a fuck ton of anime art on my pc, my one weird hobby. I just like adding new pieces to my treasure collection :3 Even if I never see it again, I like knowing it is there.

I was a Dragon Ball Z, fan from wayyyy back when it first came to TV. I collected all the original VHS, tapes, to show how hard core a fan I was. Next Anime I followed was Naruto from beginning to the end of the original story line, then again with the newest plots. In the past few years the only newish Anime I got into was Attack on Titan. I hear the next batch to be televises will come next year :D

@Doranq where do you find the time to watch all of those lol.
Here, here Hatt-kun.
07d.gif

  • 1 week = 168 hrs
  • Anime shows run Approx. 20-22min
  • I tend to juggle around 10 shows. 10x20/22 = 200-220min = 3 1/3 - 3 2/3 hours.
  • Leaving me 164 1/3 hrs - 164 2/3 hours with in the week. or even 20 1/3 - 20 2/3 hours in the day.
  • Even IF I were to watch 10 a day. That is only costing 23 1/3 hrs - 25 2/3 hrs a week with a remainder of 144 2/3 - 142 1/3 hrs.
  • Then keep in mind I have been avidly watching anime for over the course of 14 years. Some of those years I had way way more free time for obvious reasons.

So I have time to watch precious Anime with plenty to spare.

It's not technically anime (at least how the word gets used in the west), but I highly recommend Avatar, the last airbender to anyone who enjoys anime and hasn't seen it yet (all 3 of you).

I'll think on some anime recommendations laters.
