Any hook up with someone you don't know has risks. What precautions would you take if you met a guy in a bar or club?

If you are going to meet him, I might make sure someone knew where you were going to be, and carry a cell phone with you. You might consider having them call you during your hook up to see if you are ok, or you call them at a given time. I like to meet first in public - get an idea of a guy's temperament. It is not fool proof by a long shot.

Is the guy giving you his real name? Can you find him of social media? Of course a lot of guys don't like to be known or expose their lives to hook ups. Again, you have to weight the risks.

I have been very lucky over many years. I wonder at times how I am still alive and healthy. Good luck.

You are right . . . BUT . . . .

Common sense goes out the door on this issue. I am sure there are far more than just 3 robberies on the east coast of Florida due to anonymous hook ups. I venture most are never even mentioned, let alone reported. I agree with "Be Careful," - I think it every time I meet someone, but yet given the chance, I rarely say no, and I know I am not alone on this. It is amazing how trusting we can become for sex.

I have to be very honest and say the hookups I've had off grindr have been nothing but disappointing. The sex wasn't great, the picture was from when there were 25, ten years ago, or many other things.

It is always in the back of my mind. I've been lucky because I was screwing around before HIV was identified - and that was a time when no one was safe. To his day I am amazed I did not get sick, or even exposed. And yes, I know of people who got it very early on in their sexual life.

I have anonymous sex but always in a sauna, in a club, in a hotel, in a cinema. Never at my place or at his place. When we learn to know each other, then this changes. But of course then it no longers files under anonymous sex.
