Chin wag (pncd' Chin Wahg) synom. natter, chat, rattle, chit.

a non brit could have a chin wag, its about the quality of the conversation that makes it a chinwag, not the accent. However, reading a book recently called 'Being The English', I realise that some of the inanety, sillyness and informaty of a chin wag it could only really be british. British people have a built in humour that means we can talk nonsense and still entertain ourselves. Its how you can tell an English person from a non-British person speaking English

Jeepers, my comment about 'a British accent' was merely a lighthearted way of pointing out it was a British-English word rather than an American-English word. :smile:
