Hello Ladies

I was hoping to garner some advice, regarding anti aging products—specifically night and day creams.
My skin type is a combination of sorts—Oily ( T zone) and dry around the cheek area etc
One other issue is eye cream, can't seem to find anything that hides dark circles...suggestions?

My sister suggested Biotherm blue therapy products. I am not concerned with price point —rather just want something that works. ( See pic)

Advance Warning—I'll save the time and energy for the idiots that suggest their "semen" as an alternative
I am not seeking your nut sac as anti aging therapy, so spare me the hassle.

I make a homemade goop.

Almond oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin E Oil.

If I wanna get fancy mix in a lil Camelila Seed Oil. Vitamin A.

Toss it in a bowl, immersion blend until thickened.

In the morning I slather it on, let it sit for a bit, remove excess.

At night, repeat but leave it on.

Does it work? I think so.

If semen has such amazing anti-aging properties why are ball sacks so wrinkly?
Easy. Because balls are givers. They give out all the anti-aging properties they contain. They don’t even hold any back any anti-aging cream for themselves. What are you left with? Wrinkly balls.

Balls truly have a thankless job.

Tbh I use Avon products, fairly inexpensive and works as well as anything else I've tried. Now when I say works I use that term loosely, doesn't matter how much I've spent on products I strongly believe they're no more than glorified moisturisers really, yes they have been thru trials etc but even the most expensive ones simply appear to pay for write ups and reviews about said trials, none of them have solid scientific evidence that they have age reviving or delaying ability and if anyone needs that it's me Lol. Just keep your skin well hydrated :)

Retinol is the only real ingredient that provides anti-aging properties. So look for a product with retinol, regardless of what you go with. I use a serum from The Ordinary. It’s less than $10, high quality, low price point. But there are lots of retinol products. For the real deal, retinoids are available at the dermatologist. Much higher strength than retinol.

You might also want to look at products containing niacinamide (it brightens) and hyaluronic acid (for moisturizing).

I find the biggest thing for me is a good daily moisturizer with SPF to protect my skin from the harsh sun. I keep a number of different brands around, mostly: Neutrogena, Aveeno, Cetaphil, Dermalogica. I favor the more affordable stuff for day to day use, but Dermalogica has a special place in my heart

My favorite lately is Aveeno Absolutely Ageless daily moisturizer with sunscreen broad spectrum SPF 30 (it's about 15-20$)

I buy it less often because it is more expensive but i also LOVE Dermalogica Prisma SPF 30 (70-ish$)

I just put some Neutrogena Hydroboost water gel SPF 50 in my shopping basket (also 15-20$)

At night I've been using retinol oil, Neutrogena brand currently. I use it after I wash my face with my current favorite night face wash, Aveeno positively radiant skin brightening daily scrub. I got these big face washing rounds on Amazon with a scrubby side on one and a softer side on the other and they work great with the exfoliating beads in the wash. And it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

In the morning I tend to use a Cetaphil redness reducing wash, cuz i got a little bit of the cheek flush.

"In the morning I tend to use a Cetaphil redness reducing wash, cuz i got a little bit of the cheek flush"

I wasn't sure what kind of facial wash, to use, so I am going to try Cetaphil...So many brands on the market, hard to decipher between the legit products and just fancy packaging...

I've always been so self conscious about my red cheeks and have tried other things but this wash seems to do a good job of taming the flush. Affordable, too.

CeraVe is better than Cetaphil if you’re looking at that type of cleanser. Better ingredients :)

Plus, if you wear makeup, you should always do a double cleanse. Use a cleansing oil, or cleansing balm and then go in with your regular cleanser.

Which one would be best? The hydrating facial cleaner or foaming? For the redness reducing, I mean. My skin type is sensitive normal. Not especially dry or oily. I like foaming, but the foamy Cerave says for normal to oily and i would not want to dry my skin out :emoji_slight_smile:

As long as your skin doesn’t feel tight after cleansing, you aren’t drying out your skin. But make sure to moisturize afterward.

One really good, inexpensive, option is Simple’s Miceller Water cleansing gel. It’s great for dry and sensitive skin. If you have dry skin, CeraVe might be too strong for your skin.

That's quite the collection of natural oils- I am not sure my skin would be able to handle so much of it.....going the natural way is certainly an option...

My dermatologist recommended Dove Soap (yes, the bar) and CeraVe lotion... not sure if this is her recommendation to everyone, but it was to me. (When stressed, I can get a little flare up of rosacea, but otherwise, I don't have any skin issues. Mostly normal, a smidge oily in the T zone.)

And sunscreen. Lots and lots of sunscreen. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Sunscreen is the most important anti-aging product of all! I use it under my foundation and over my moisturizer.

Have blemish bs n use retinol to help with that, does have "anti-aging" properties, but am no really worried about that. Far as skin care routine on the daily with showering in the evening?

Wash face with cool water, rose water toner, mix broad spectrum spf/etc moisturizer with the other moisturizer I use. Depend on season/weather. Hot n more prone to be oily, use a gel moisturizer that is lighter. Cold n dry out, use a cocoa butter based one.

Evenin' shower with a 60 second alpha hydroxy acid face mask couple times a week, but use a hyaluronic face wash daily. Post-shower, retinol goes on. Let it set/absorb for like a minute, then use a hydrogen peroxide spot treatment for any blemishes. Vitamin C serum across cheeks n underneath eyes. Let sit/absorb for a minute. Moisturizer goes last. If am really doing deep treatment o skin, am prone to steam for face for a bit, then clay mask, then mix o jojoba oil/cocoa butter mix. Jojoba is what use for cuticles/hands and seems to work very well. Coconut oil tends to leave my skin feel greasy, for whatever reason, even if tiny amount unless skin is absolute parched, an don't tend to let it get to that point. Partner has very different skin needs an can use it just fine.

Laundry list o ingredients to handle stupid blemishes, but lot o what I use also has properties for anti-aging. Am just barely start to have any hint o fine wrinkles n only from lil bit o frowning. Need to stop reading news so often, I swear. But. Vitamin c is good for helping stay moisturized. Notice less puffy/dark beneath eyes with it. Retinol also as mention is good for anti-age properties. Is prone to cause breakout when first use. Make any forming blemish come to head faster/skin cycle through is normal stuff faster. So. Can be a lil alarming to first use. An if you do use, use consistently or you hae to go through that bs cycle of potential skin freak out again.
