Eddie and The Cruisers and Eddie and The Cruisers-ll:Eddie Lives! Both have good music and enjoyable story.

Full Metal Jacket-I fell hard for Vincent 'Pyle' D'Onofrio and the movie is worth seeing again and again.

Five Days One Summer-a Sean Connery vehicle which is touching and sad at times, while offering humor at others.

Never Say Never Again-I find Connery to be just about his sexiest here (the movie isn't bad either).

Very Close Quarters-a Theodore Bikel, Farley Granger, Shelly Winters, Paul Sorvino film-always provides me with some laughs.

I have several others as well, all still on VHS as I haven't quite embraced DVD yet.

Needless to say, this has been a tough night for me, but I was actually chatting about movies a couple of hours ago and some of these came up.

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned (Airplane, The Princess Bride, Blade Runner, ET, Back to the Future, etc...)

I'll add:

Hairspray (1988)

Ladyhawke (1985) - I had the hots for Rutger Hauer back then so I'd watch ALL his movies!

AND... one of the most "dumb fun" movies of mine:

Earth Girls are Easy (1988)

i have never seen the christmas story.

It's quite odd; it was initially reviewed by association, because Bob Clarke directed stuff like PORKY'S, CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS, AND DEATH DREAM. Initially it was panned.

I like BETTER OFF DEAD, ONE CRAZY SUMMER, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, HEATHERS...TIME BANDITS, any "Python" flick, BRAZIL, etc...REAL GENIUS, MY SCIENCE PROJECT...

BETTER OFF DEAD has been seen so frequently the household often quotes from it in odd situations.

OMG, I went to see Steel Magnolias in the cinema with a gay friend and that was the first time I cried in public at a big screen movie, I think it was my emotional downfall.

I went to the movies with some girlfriends. Two had seen it before me. We dared each other not to cry. I cried like a big baby.
