South Park is political and social satire. Even the fart jokes are social satire because they are making fun of the people who say things like "South Park is only fart jokes and crappy animation". So Matt & Trey made Terrence and Phillip to show what that would actually be like. Once in a while they stick in something purely for shock value, like Mr. Slave putting Paris Hilton up his ass. No live people are actually hurt during the production of any anime, except maybe the animators who are forced to work long hours... but... if you keep producing stuff that constantly reinforces the idea that women are inferior to men, or that they are to be seen only as sex objects, or that 10 year old girls enjoy being raped... I think that this can be damaging. I'm not big on censorship, I am kind of a pervert myself, and I do understand there is a difference between fantasy, entertainment, and reality. However... rape and pedophelia are really pushing the limit of what is acceptable as sexual fantasy. These actions should not be condoned at all and by producing entertainment that seems to regularly endorse both, the hentai industry is condoning, if not the actions themselves, at least the fantasy. Fucking mailmen.. fine... but raping a child? Sorry if that bothers me a little.

I said Japanese men don't know about enlargement. But they are creative; anyone who's ever seen any hentai or visited the seedy side of Tokyo would agree with that sentiment. (Let's face it: The vast majority of porn is by men, for men.)

Since my original posts here, I actually *have* visited the seedy side of Tokyo. and.. holy crap. I may have thought the amount of pedophile fantasy prevalent in the hentai that makes it to American shores was bad... but I wasn't at all prepared for just how overwhelmingly ubiquitous this stuff was in Japan itself. Not just anime, either. Every sex shop I walked in to had an EXTENSIVE collection of DVDs with girls aged 5-17 (with ages clearly labled as a selling point on the DVD) prancing around in bikinis or lingerie, sucking suggestively on lollipops, bathing, etc.

Again, points for perversity, but I still don't see much creativity. Most of these exploitative videos looked very much like the hundreds next to them on the shelf.
