ugh. the ONLY thing i like from marvel right now is their interpretation of stephen king's The Stand and that's about it.

i don't like all the retconning and other crap going on at DC right now either. the current batman storyline is going well, but they're going to eventually bring back ol' bruce and probably toss grayson to the side once again. blackest night was fine at first, but all the really goofy tie-ins has already worn me out. i certainly hope 'brightest day' doesn't do the same thing.

one comic that never lets me down is the walking dead. i only wish there were more pages to that comic. other than that, the only thing i read are the various Star Wars comics, and my small penchant for uncle scrooge. :D

Usagi Yojimbo
Invincible
Astounding Wolf-Man
Stuff of Legend
Various Batman comics
Fantastic Four
The whole Seige thing that Marvel's doing.

Actually I don't know much about Comic Books but what I'm told.

I've bought a comic for it's cover. And played a superhero themed online game, where I was a left-field Beast Transformation hero (I described them the other way around - a beast turned human scientist, who regressed on occasion).

is one of my all-time favorites.

There have been a few series published that cover some of the travels of the crew of Serenity during the times between the end of the TV series Firefly and the feature film.

I've also liked a lot of the work that's been done showing the story of Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger from
Stephen King's Dark Tower saga...although all I've seen so far is retelling of events that were covered in the novels.

Lex is right...CBRs are the shiz.

and gearing up for free comic day
:dance:a

Mr. Hazelgod - have ya checked out the Preacher (Ennis/Dillon) series from Vertigo imprint? King drew much from the series while he was writing The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born.

Jon Ostrander is my favorite writer. Of comics... I have some of his Grimjack, and some Westerns he did for Marvel, and a whole lot of Star Wars!

I love the Runaways by Marvel and Strangers In Paradise by Terri Moore, but then again- I'm younger, so I tend to like the whole awkward teen thing. But I also love this company called Zenescope, that comes out with these darker versions of Grimms Fairy Tales; somewhat addicting.

Love Marvel titles mostly but can read DC too. After a submission came close to being an artist for Marvel back in '88 when I was 12 y.o. but I didn't follow up. Now I'm just a wage slave who can draw pretty pictures in my spare time.

I grew up reading all manner of DC and Marvel. Batman, Supes, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern/Green Arrow, Justice League, Teen Titans, even. Spidey, Iron Man, Hulk, Daredevil, The Defenders, The Avengers, Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, Iron-Fist, Fantastic Four, Marvel Team-Up, etc.

I dug "horror" comics like The Witching Hour, and "funnies" like Archie and Richie Rich.

As per the norm, Mom tossed them all when I was away at college. Aarrgghh!!

I had a rennaissance a number of years back and picked up some of the comics I'd owned as a young'un. I treasure some of these.

And then I got into some of the modern stuff. Mostly the Hot Chicks stuff with sexy artwork and stories that fluctuated in quality, like Danger Girl, Tomb Raider, Fathom, Aphrodite IX, The Tenth, Witchblade. Wank fodder mostly, but good for that purpose!

Spidey still rules. And I have a soft spot for Bronze Age Supes and Batman. Daredevil holds up well.

Blackest Night got me back into reading superhero comics again. Never stopped reading Hellboy and B.P.R.D. though.

Its estimated that 50 percent of the population has a 0 net worth. And that 60 percent of us will outlive our savings. Money is hard to make. The moving up dream is just that a dream. So if you , besides enjoying comics , maybe you'll get a break.
Some recent cgc sales. {estimates}
hulk 1 cgc 9.2 - $121,000.00
superman 1 cgc 6.0 - $317,000.00
batman 1 cgc 8.0 - $1,000,000
You can have your kate and edith too.
