I'm going to get my pubes waxed for the first time in a couple of days and to be honest I'm a bit nervous.
I normally shave but I was told waxing lasts longer and isn't as painful as it looks so I'm going to give it a try, is there any advice you lovely people have for me? :)

Seriusly dont think about it. Its like you are gonna scream FUCK internally one moment and then its over. The first time hurts a tittle more because the hair root is thicker. It get easier the more you do it. It does last more than saving.

I’ve been doing sugaring and I would recommend it over waxing. The hair is pulled out in the direction of growth. With waxing it’s pulled out against the direction of growth.
The wax is hot and in the wrong hands you can get burned by it. There is no risk of being burned. After waxing, the residue is removed with a chemical. After sugaring, a warm damp towel is used for cleaning.
I assume that the first time is the most painful with either process.
I use lidocaine cream before going and it helps a lot. I only use it on the private area. I don’t use anything on my shoulders, back, butt, or crack and taint area.
The area around the base of my shaft and scrotum are the most sensitive. Using a numbing cream makes a huge difference and I wouldn’t do those areas without the cream.

I always wax, every four weeks or so. First time kinda hurts, but afterwards, everything feels so smooth man! Can really recommend it! Just make sure you wear loose boxers and don't work out or have sex 24 hours after your wax

I’ve started waxing again. For a while I was going totally clean, but being a hairy guy, I decided it looked weird. Right now, I have the base of my shaft and my balls done. Because I’ve been going regularly, it doesn’t hurt too much as the hair is getting finer. The first time there is some pain, but after that, it doesn’t feel much worse than a band-aid being pulled off.

I have balls taint and crack waxed alll the time. After the dust time it isn’t as bad. Just go to a guy who knows how it feels and knows what he is doing. And I prefer it over shaving or sugaring. Agree w wearing loose fit after and no lube on your dick for 24 hours. Avoid JO w lube

I'm a regular waxer and although it is a little uncomfortable the incredible feeling (and reality) of being so "clean" is worth it.

Also, as I say to my waxing lady, once she has applied the post wax stuff it and its glistening,it never looks better! (Invariably, hard as a bone too). She agrees.

Pre wax:

1. Go for hard wax for intimate waxing. Most places use it as a matter of course but some don't and will use strip wax. I've had strip wax for intimate and as long as they work very quickly it's not too bad. But in my opinion the results aren't as good and don't last as long. Of course, hard wax is more expensive.
2. Exfoliate the area with a rough sponge or special glove if you get a chance. Just loosens up the hairs and gets rid of dead skin.
3. Don't worry if the hair is too long - she will clip it.
4. I usually take an ibuprofen before - takes the edge off discomfort.
5. I also usually take 25g viagra / equivalent. They cant tell you this (but my lady does!) but it is definitely better to be hard when your dick is waxed. I'l normally be hard anyway with the touch - in fact she will probably ask you to stretch it to help, and my own touch on the end gets me hard - be I like to be sure.
6. I'm circumcised which makes it easier. Don't hold back on stretching the skin if she asks you to help - my lady tells me foreskins are awkward - and the same for the scrotum (which doesn't hurt that much, despite what you may think!)
7. Take you time to inspect yourself when done for stray hairs on your dick. She will look hard but easy to miss and annoying when you get home and spot one.
8. FYI I have my back done. They use strip wax for this because hard wax is cost prohibitive on a large area. The back hurts worse that balls/dick! Especially top of chest/neck where the skin is thin.
9. Talk to and over time build up relationship with waxer. It really does distract your attention. Me and my waxer probably go into topics that most waxers might consider inappropriate! (eg we discuss the really big dicks she does (she describes me as "hung" but i'm not that big compared to many here - c6.75 inches x 5.5 - which is interesting with all the discussions of sizes and what is big on this site . She reckons she only has two bigger than mine. She once apologized for staring at it when we were done and I was hard and looking good and she freely says she loves it! And we talk about sex lives etc But this has taken several sessions to build up the rapport so we are relaxed with each other). We spend most of the time laughing - trust me, it makes a difference it you keep nattering and laughing.

Post wax:

Two really important tips which they will tell you are are true:
1. Avoid at all costs hot showers, no baths 100%, any sweaty activity. they say 24 hours - go for 48 if you can
2. Exfoliate every day or two.

Both of above are to avoid ingrowing hairs and infections. I've slipped my standards on a couple of occasions and weeks and weeks and weeks of pimples and spots have been the result.

Hope that helps. Would love to know how you get on!

I have been getting waxed every 4 weeks for years now. Many places hardly grow any more and others have a steady but smaller than before growth. I agree with @veronakid2000 above... very good rundown of what to do (or not) and how things work. I found a place that caters to men and has guys doing the waxing... so to me it’s less embarrassing than with a woman. However after all these years I pretty much don’t notice and just hop up on the table and assume the requested position... over pretty quick— and I get my ears and nose (and occasionally my brows) done too...

Would you be able to post where you go that caters to guys and have guys doing the waxing? Ive tried to find places that have male waxers....but I can never find any. I will be in the Orlando area in January and may like to try this out if I know where to go.
