I’m actually quite a shy person but I’ve been relaxing and socialising naked for as long as I can remember - it’s just so difficult to explain that it’s not a sexual or showy thing for me to people who only see it that way themselves.

You might be a shy person but certainly not shy about showing your very nice "parts" - most appealing.
I started very young, then accidentally found a place frequented by guys and any inhibitions vanished.
There was something very rewarding about being naked and when I moved away it was difficult to find places apart from home where I could indulge. But I persisted. We used to have friends who had 55 acres in the mountains of Virginia. It was mostly wooded but in a clearing near the middle there was an A-frame cabin with several decks, an outdoor shower and a beautiful swimming pool. My husband had been going there for years before we met and is was ALWAYS a nude weekend or week when we were there from sun up until lights out. Cooking, eating, etc.

I first got into nudism during the first summer lockdowns - partially it was a comfort thing, also a “I don’t have to leave the house so I’m not going to bother to get dressed thing”.

After a while it helped with my body confidence; I felt more at ease naked and eventually freeer and liberated.

A while after that my nudity-related hang-ups melted away, and so I started doing it socially and now it’s a social thing. It’s a journey, and totally non-sexual.

That's the way to look at it. You're not "stripping off clothes", you are just not bothering to put on clothes.
Nudity is our default state of being, so clothing is the aberration.

Agreed 100%! Clothes are uncomfortable and restricting and should only be worn for safety reasons or protection from the elements. Certainly not because the puritanical society says so.
