I think all of these statistics are bull. I would not find it hard to believe if 90% of Indians were less than 6" or if 50" of Americans are over 6". Either way the use of such a small sample size is absurd. Your statements are based on such little data and you don't even know how valid/accurate the surveys were. Do you know if the same standards were used? These statistics only exist for advertisers and product manufacturers to try to sell their idea/product. The statistics only exist to aid someone's agenda, they don't prove anything and both of your "facts" are inconsistent and unreliable. Instead of stating these facts why don't you just say what you want or what your looking for. Do you want to feel better about your size? Do you want to find a penis of certain race and size? I have an average penis and obviously I use non "magnum" condoms. I still find that trojans and durex are snug and hard to get on and can be painful at times to have on. Okay, looks like I struck a nerve. So, instead of ignoring it and letting the issue go away, you decide to erroneously manipulate statistics to support your argument. Well, I don't need to bend the statistics to make my argument.

Here are the facts: 1.) 20% of condom uses in India fail due to penis sizes that don't fit the World Health Organization condom sizing standard; 2.) The rest of the world experiences a 5% condom failure rate; 3.) 60% of Indian men had penises about 1” shorter than those condoms catered for (5”-6”); 4.) 30% of Indian men had penises at least 2” shorter than those condoms catered for (4”-5”). This means that 90% of Indian men have penises shorter than 6”, but larger than 4”. And, I'm glad you brought up the LifeStyle Condom Spring Break survey. While, approximately 70% of American college students measured between 5.1" to 5.9", nearly 50% measured between 5.75" and 6". So, if you were to put penis size results on a chart, no matter what group of men you measured, it would inevitably take the form of a "bell-curve". The peak of the bell curve for American men, according to the LifeStyles condom survey, occurs around 5.9". This basically tells us the 50% of American men are larger than 5.9", and 50% are smaller. With regards to Indian men, I couldn't find a chart online that shows the Indian Government study results broken down that would allow us to chart it and, inevitably come up with a bell-curve. However, we can surmise that the penis length distribution amongst different groups of people will be relative. So, here's what we do know: 90% of Indian men are between 4” and 6" in length; 60% are between 5”-6”; 30% are between 4”-5”. Comparing this to American men, about 90% of American men have penises smaller than 6.75", but larger than 5”. This is a difference of about 12% on the top end (6”/6.75”=.88) and 20% on the low end (4”/5”=.8). Statistically, though, most men won’t be 4”/5” or 6”/6.75”. So, giving Indian men the benefit of the doubt, I’ll use a number closer to 12% than 20%. Let’s say 14%. Therefore, if the peak of the bell-curve for American men occurs at 5.9”, the peak for Indian men should be around 5.07” (5.9” x 0.86). And, we haven’t even gotten into the issue of penis girth/circumference, which we all know is the real reason as to why a condom fits or not.

So, don’t take offense when articles like this are put out there. As evidence by some of the Indian posters on this thread, not all Indians are smallish. Hell, you could probably conduct a study of Israelis, Japanese, Chinese, Pakistani, etc. that would yield some surprising results. Just be happy with what you have and go use it!

No amount of surveys can speak for 1.2 billion people.

I was simply stating the facts from the study that "NiceGuy" tried to misuse for whatever agenda he had. Whether or not you agree with the sample size of the study, or any studies for that matter, is irrelevant. The Indian government conducted this study over a two year period in every region of India because they had (and still have) a public health crisis on their hands. The massive spread of HIV and unwanted pregnancy throughout India. The sole purpose of this study was to find out why this was happening and, more importantly, why it was happening to individuals within low-risk categories. That is, those people who don't have many sexual partners and who regularly use condoms. What the Indian government deduced was that 60% OF THOSE INDIAN MALE PARTICPANTS IN THE STUDY had a penis size that put them at risk for misuse of a condom (either sliding off or tearing as a result of folding) that is manufactured to the World Health Organization specification. Who's to say that penis size is even the smoking gun here? Maybe Indian womens' vaginas are so tight that they cause condoms to malfunction. Maybe Indians have no idea how to use condoms. Whatever the ultimate cause is/was, the Indian government ultimately petitioned the World Health Organization to require condom manufacturers to produce smaller condoms that are better "optimized for India" (their words). Maybe 99% of Indian males don't need the smaller condoms. We have no way to tell.

And, for the next "genius" who decides to post that a survey of 1,200-2,000 Indian men is not representative of 1.2 billion people, well I would certainly agree with you for two reasons. First, because a little less than half of those 1.2 billion people are female (duh!) and, second, that there would definitely be a significant margin of error when comparing ~600 million men to a sampling of 1,500. However, when "NiceGuy" decided to compare Indian and American mens' penis sizes based on both the Indian government and LifeStyles Condom Spring Break surveys, his misuse of the data was glaringly obvious. These two studies, when put against each other, certainly have merit. Why? Because a sampling of 1,200-2,000 Indian men vs. 300-400 American men would carry the same margin of error based on the total male population of each country. If anything, the LifeStyles survey could be faulted for only using a sampling of males in their late teens/early 20's. It's a fact that men's penis sizes grow well into their 20's. Of course, the flip side of that argument could be that only the more self-assured males volunteered themselves to be measured at Spring Break. So, "NJMan", I agree with your assessment that the two studies don't mean much when applied to the larger population.

So, just for the record, I don't profess to know whether Indian men, or American men for that matter, have big, average, or small penises.
