Well, anyone who knows me, both here and in offline life, can tell you my Trekkie bona fides. I've been a fan since the 70's and grew up with reruns of the original on TV. Not only did the show help inspire my love of the Trek Universe, but Sci-fi in general. In fact, many of my future political and social views were in fact formed due to Gene Roddenberry's utopian and progressive vision of the future; something I deeply hope will come about, even though I realize it likely never will.

I loved most of the sequel series like TNG and DS9, but the quality started fading with Voyager, IMO, and I admit I stopped watching after Enterprise's second season; although after reviewing the whole show again (including the seasons I didn't see the first time), I admit that while still sub-standard, it wasn't as bad the second time around that I initially thought.

However, at the risk of causing inter-generational controversy, I have never seen any of the newer CBS shows and based upon everything I've read, have no desire to waste money paying to see something I do not consider part of Star Trek. While some parts of Picard or Lower Decks sounds interesting, but Discovery totally sounds like rubbish due to both it's destruction of canon and R-rated story lines.

Pretty much ditto for the J.J. Trek movies being a dunsel within the Trek universe. While they might have been somewhat entertaining, but to me Star Trek has always been about it's stories and morality plays, not just special effects lens flare presented to a Beastie Boys soundtrack.

So to me, Star Trek pretty much ended as something great after Voyager and I'm admittedly still living in it's past.

Thanks big Star Trek fan. I don't watch to much of the Original series.

Love them all , it amazing how many franchises there really are. Voyager with Tom Paris and Kim would be a great one to do. Love that one. Enterprise and Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, all great. I just bought the Complete Collection of Voyager and watching that one right now. I was expecting a Enterprise movie but don't think thats going to happen. I believe there is a Star Trek 2009 movie with of all people Jonny Cho as Sulu.
