Personally, I think you should try a certified trainer for a few sessions. A REAL trainer will look at you ...your strengths and weaknesses and any physical limitations and help you better toward your goal. It's easy to give advice online but one has to take in account the real life situation of the person they are talking too. You need someone to be there to make sure you're doing the exercises with the right form as well so you do not hurt yourself and get a more beneficial workout. Also, when you think about how much it costs to go to a dr or chiropractor after you get hurt...a three session pkg with a certified trainer will be well worth the money. The fact you said you were out of commission due to surgeries and such... not one person asked what that was for or if you're sure you are ready to get back to normal working out. Also, did you Doctor say you could? With some surgeries, you are not allowed to work out at all or have limited things you can do for MONTHS.

that's a fairly good point, I can tell you Squats are great but if your Squat form sucks and you have no one to correct it, directing you to Squats in THAT case is a horrid mistake

on the other hand you can litterally get a training certificate via the mail so try to make sure you can trust the person, ideally by knowing someone who they have gotten real results for

I agree with the suggestion of working with a trainer for a few sessions. It really helped me a great deal. I personally have given up squats and lunges since I blew my knee out, you can accomplish the same effect on a machine with out the wear and tear on your knees.

I have to chime in here and say "no, you can not"

or to be more specific, that is sometimes true and sometimes not
if your goals are totally cosmetic it is true, if you actually want to get stronger then it is inaccurate for a few reasons that arn't really important

Tip #1: Ask for help on a forum not dedicated to the size of your penis, and may I suggest you try a website dedicated to helping new persons become more fit?

techinically it is an appearance issue
and I bet a lot of us have experience working out

That doesn't mean most of you understand kinesiology or actually can contribute advice tailored to his body. The first thing that should have erupted from everyone's mouth, if that were the case would be: "Make sure you're healthy enough to exercise, see a doctor!" because last I checked professionally it was good advice.

Word of mouth is fun though, won't lie; I do it all the time.

Well actually I'm not that new to working out and as far as kinesiology of it, I have some basis of understanding. Regardless of where I post it, I'm looking for opinions and a helpful direction. What makes this different to other posts stating "I want abs!" Healthy enough to exercise? 19 years old, with 2 months of healing time after 2 minor surgeries, should be plenty enough to be considered healthy.

Anyways, just wanted opinions based on that routine as I'm trying to construct a decent one for now.

Why not just take up a sport or martial art? At worst army PT will get you in shape and they have a website for it. Disorganized suggestions can be dangerous, and also I don't exactly know anything of your medical history; 2mos. healing time on one of the hands you broke might mean absolutely nothing in the face of a ruptured organ or heart palpatations. Youth just isn't enough.

All the same, I believe in you! Don't die on me.

Namely because they are stupid and have money. That's why anyone goes to a gym. You can exercise in a hole the ground more effectively sometimes.

Alright thanks everyone for the advice, I do like some pull ups so I'll trade that for the curls. Do you recommend doing pull ups and rows in the same day? and should I leave out the compound lat pulldowns, as well? I forgot squats.. they used to be a part of my old regimen and I'd like to try some military presses as I've heard alot bout em

I always did pullups like at the end of a workout, even if that workout included lat pulls/rows.

I guess it depends on how many pullups you can do or how easy they are for you though. If you can easily bust out 15-30 even after a workout that includes other bicep/lat work, then go ahead and do em. Also, lot of people will hold weight either between their legs or will chain it to a belt when they do pullups, if you're doing weighted pullups like that then I would say cut out the rows/pullups for that workout. Overtraining accomplishes nothing.

I personally cut out the lat pulls if I'm doing rows, or vice versa. Works the same muscle groups, no point in doing both.

Lol don't be childish, make sure you're healthy enough is a bs tagline that you use so you don't get sued. Unless a person is mentally defecient they know if they are so ill they should not be lifting weight. And as far as having a trainer that understand Kinesiology that would be fantastic, but you arn't likely to find one with a legit education in the subject matter, unless you join a college or profesional sports team.

Very true, I guess I'll start light until they get more challenging, probably going to look foolish since I've never done these power lifts and will probably use really light weights :X
