I watched it on TV yesterday. Was pretty cool, and from what I heard and saw, not a bunch of liberals bitching about conservatives or politics at all really...

I can't wait to hear what Beck/O-Riley have to say about it. The whole "turnout" controversy is going to be interesting.

Regardless, I've always thought that Jon Stewart is someone that needs to be taken more seriously. Beneath the satire and jokes, there is some substance there.

There is a LOT of substance there. Stewart took a dump this morning that had more character and integrity than Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Malkin, Coulter and Beck combined.

Plus, some corn.

Uncut you have a got looking dick, damn.

Now, as to your plea. I think Jon Stewart is this. He is an American who happens to be a comedian. His being a comedian has given him a stage to pull back the curtain of the conservatives and their spiel. There is one thing in his speech that stands out and that is 'we're in hard times not end times'.
I didn't see the rally, in fact I'd forgotten about it. I get so weary listening to all the hate and discontent that is spread by the republicans and the tea party that it was refreshing to hear someone speak who makes sense to me.

My state will more than likely be one of the lost states on Tuesday. But, I'm not really too upset about this turn over. Why? Since the Democratic party has had control of both the House and the Senate, the republicans have blocked and filibustered every piece of legislation that has been presented. As usual they've done nothing. After Tuesday, they will have the House and the focus will be on them when they do nothing.

It will be interesting.

You're an idiot. Your so-called "FACTS" are crap. You've linked to yet another partisan hack blogger. This one posts an aeriel shot of the west end of the Mall facing the Lincoln Memorial where the Beck rally took place. He then deliberately and disingenuously posts a shot showing the same area empty, purportedly during the 'Sanity' rally. Of course that area was empty, because the event was being held at the far other end of the Mall, the east end in front of the Capitol building. Those are the FACTS, dumbass. He then has the audacity to make a crack about Colbert's ironically named "Ministry of Truthiness", when he knows damn well he's lying out his ass. Double irony again. You swallow this horseshit? This guy just made you look like a fool. How do you like that?
The clown even has an "update re: validity of photos" in which he talks about the angle of the sun and so forth, but (of course) not a word about the fact that the photograph shows the end of the Mall opposite to where the rally took place. What a shameless liar.

Well, that is how it was designed to work...

Ummmm NO ! I really hope you're joking, cause if not this shows the sad reality of what happens when AMERICAN CIVICS is not being taught to our kids in school !

Regardless, I've always thought that Jon Stewart is someone that needs to be taken more seriously. Beneath the satire and jokes, there is some substance there.

I completely agree. Even though he is an excellent comedian, as we saw at the rally, he's a powerful and erudite speaker .

There is a LOT of substance there. Stewart took a dump this morning that had more character and integrity than Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Malkin, Coulter and Beck combined.
Plus, some corn.

hahaha Fecal humor, to describe the group of Fascist (not debatable) Morons (ehh somewhat debatable) are very apropos as they are ALL FULL OF SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Just getting back to this. it was great. just a bunch of people having a good time laughing at funny signs. The mall was pretty much spotless the next day. I was there. I saw. Bottom line. The lady with the "gay marriage will extinguish the sun" sign was pretty cool. My favorite for sanity had to be "wouldn't care if my president was a muslim".
