Strange few weeks in dealing with OnlyFans.
I first received a warning message from OF, about a private message I had sent to a porn creator A YEAR AGO when I referred to using poppers while watching his vids. Seems referring to poppers is breaking their rules, even though it can be purchased over the counter is not illegal the last time I checked.
A few days later, I received another message, this time warning me about a message I sent a creator in JANUARY when I referred to smoking weed and watching his vids. Seems referring to weed - purchased legally over the counter - is breaking their rules.
Today, just received a third message from OF about a message I sent in FEBRUARY to another creator, referring to smoking weed and using poppers to enjoy his vids. Again, a big no no.
Warnings about PRIVATE messages sent a year ago - that is insane. Has anyone else experience such ludicrous behaviour from OnlyFans? As a result, I just cancelled all my subscriptions. No more $$$ from me and I have subbed to almost 300 accounts in recent years.

Poppers and weed are both criminalized substances in the UK. Since the company is based there, I guess it makes sense for their policies to reflect those laws, rather than dealing with the specific laws of every jurisdiction in which OF is accessed.

If it is such a major 'offence', then why did it take 12 months to send a warning note about a private message? And these were in private messages between me and creators. Just baffled by this.
And is poppers really a criminalised substance in the UK? You can buy it over the counter at many many shops I have been to.

Yeah. I got one for a message I sent like 6 months ago. They are very selective in their enforcement of their "rules" (which are stupid). I recently subscribed to a fairly popular creator who has tons of videos with poppers and smoking weed (and other substances a couple times ... I think). There's no way they don't know about it. A lot of the videos have been up for years, but some are were posted within the last 3 months.

Thanks for letting me know. I got one warning message and then another, and then they kept coming and they were all about private messages sent a year or so ago. So they must have plenty of time on their hands to be monitoring pvt messages sent that long ago. I questioned customer service why they were doing this and I got the standard corporate BS back about how I could challenge their findings if I wanted to go through an official complaints process. I thought it was just easier to shut down my account. And sill them - I have been a member to almost 300 accounts and bought tonnes of pvt videos, so they have got regular money out of me. Not any longer.

I only get instant warnings when I would try to type the word "meet" or "choke" in a DM. All you have to do is modify the word a bit. It's amazing the content that is allowed to be posted but if you dare type one of those words it's a no- no.

I wouldn’t say I’m getting harassing messages but I am getting harassed by content creators who I don’t follow anymore to rejoin and watch their stuff. Not sure if that’s always been a thing, but it’s definitely a cluster fuck.

Oh I was getting them as well. Creators I had subbed to once would, a year or so later, be sending messages with all kinds of offers and deals, and the number asking if I wanted to jerk off with them right away has also increased dramatically. Something not quite right with that system.

You can block them from messaging you. The creators can "follow" your profile and do that. Usually a sign a management company has taken over the account

I would assume they recently added some sort of program that scans DMs for new "forbidden" terms and it is sending you an automatic form warning DM. If they had been smart they would have included a time limit on who gets the warning.

Hey, thanks for the insights. It was just all so strange - getting official warnings about private messages sent to creators almost a year before. Anyway, I shut down my account and they have lost someone who has spent thousands with them over the years. The whole situation was so bizarre.
