Before I begin, I honestly have no clue how one would get involved in the porn business--I think its all a matter of being in the right place at the right time. When you think about it, there's probably many many MANY other guys out there who would kill to make a living doing pornos, so it's unlikely that if you ever got a hold of a director/producer, theyd hire you on the spot. You would probably have to have certain traits that really stand out.

On another note... here's something to consider:

Ive never been much of a person to tell people what to do and what not to do... but being in the porno business probably isnt as much of a dream as its made out to be.

Most people who look to get into porn do so because they think theyre getting paid to have sex, which, in all honesty, sounds like a pretty good deal :)

The one thing that these people dont usually consider is that more often than not, being in the porn business will ruin sexual experience more than it will enhance it. Basically, it becomes a matter of where sex starts becoming too much work, and not enough fun. God only knows how many porn star horror stories Ive come across where people dealt with the same situation, then regretted ever getting into the porn industry. I couldnt imagine signing a contract that forces me to have sex with someone that I may or may not find very attractive, and have to actually get sexually excited by some things that might not even be much of a turn on.

Either way, I guess it -IS- your prerogative as to whether or not you wanna pursue something like this. But just a warning--if youre in it only for the sex, I'd suggest sticking with recreational sex rather than work sex. Chances are, youll enjoy it more.

Not to get "preachy" either, but that is GREAT advice from NCSLionheart. As a person also in CA, I love watching porn and have known many people (platonically and biblically <G>) over the years who've worked in it, both behind and in front of the cameras. VERY few of them come out of it unscathed (and of course some don't even come out of it alive). Not to scare you, BigJimm, but precious few people in the industry have stable relationships, are clean and sober or have made a good living from it. It's a VERY tough biz with a short lifespan, and the vast majority of actors live hand to mouth until or unless they make a name for themselves and get connected with the bigger production companies--and once they do it takes A LOT of work to stay there. There's ALWAYS somebody else out there who's younger, better looking, with a bigger cock or bigger/better pair of tits.

Again, as much as I love watching and give great credit to the guys (and gals) who do it for a living to keep those hot vids cumming (pun intended), it takes a certain type of person to do this and I would strongly caution anyone who thinks that it's for them.

But if you're really serious, as you say you are, your best bet is to get yourself to CA if at all possible. I don't know any producers in the UK (though there must be some I would imagine), but if you were in the states and in SF or LA in particular, there are many websites and places you could go to try to get some attention and perhaps an audition (especially of you have some special "talents").

Good luck!!!

Well I've always wanted to try, see if i have what it takes to keep it up for god know how long and as for sex I know it could become routine and spoil my experience overtime but the first year would be a dream come true. I'm not so much in it for the sex but i want the life style, traveling, good pay and knowing that 100's of people are masturbating over me and someone having sex :)

First off, be aware that the pay is pretty shitty for all but a few performers (generally those who produce and distribute their own material too); sure, you may get $500 to $1500 for a day's work as a performer .. but that may well involve the back-to-back shooting of footage to be inserted into 3 or 4 different features/compilations. And there may well be no interest in you for months after that, when another one-off gig turns up.

Second, there are 1000s of people all over interested in getting into porn these days; ask yourself what is going to set you apart from the rest of them... simply getting off on thinking people are watching you ain't gonna cut it.

Third, don't forget that you are merely one part of a film-making process: unless you want to appear purely in hand-held-cam-type gonzo, then you're going to be at the whim of lighting people, camera people, directors who know precisely what they want and whose interest is going to be primarily in getting the footage they need (stopping for close-up inserts, reverse angles, etc. etc., rather than necessarily caring how 'sexy' this is for you). You would be part of an industrial process.

Fourth, have a read over this old thread, which offers (in some instances rather o.t.t.) advice and thoughts both in terms of pros and cons:

All of the advice you need is contained right here in this post by Alex my would-be porno actor! You must be truly " gifted " in more than just one way to survive in this extremely stressful and competitive field ! If you have even a modicum of concern about your personal dignity or of family stigma or of effects upon your future ( post porno) employment or career, then you must abandon this notion or pretty much remain anonymous about this for the remainder of your life ... or for as long as these concerns exist! If you are successful for a few years, you may make money... but you will have to be prepared to spend an inordinate amount of your take on health maintenance, gyms and travel expenses!

Well, I would'nt recommend getting in to porn. I used to work at a big nightclub when I was younger. I met all sorts of people, Chi Chi Larue, who went in to Porn Directing, Boy George, Madonna swung through when she was in town.
Basicly you need to be in the right place at the right time. Any big nightclubs nearby you? Any up and coming Porn Directors coming through town? Well this would be MY approach, I'm assertive and go to the source for what I want, thats just me. Like DexMan suggested, there is California. But I know there is plenty of porn produced in the UK, attitudes are certainly more open over there than in the US. Google search and find the company websites, I think you can indicate your interest right from their websites. Good luck

Self publish?

Get a web cam, present yourself in a tasteful, attractive-but-might-be-a-little-naughty manner and you'll get plenty of offers, believe me. Don't jump at the first ones. Wait. If you have what it takes, you'll get some serious inquiries.

Forgot this little bit of info the other day, theres ifriends.net, you can setup shop right online and "conduct business" on your schedule, you decide what to charge.
You can do it right from home. A little extra cash never hurts and you can explore something you have wanted to try out. You need a decent cam and you have to send off verifs to the company to prove your of legal age which takes a few weeks..
Just another resouce for ya. Good Luck!

Beware of AIDS and other STDs. I heard about a famous porn star who got AIDS, and still doing some videos, but he lost a lot of weight. I ain't trade my live for money. Think before you enter the industry.

Xtube brother...Xtube! If nothing happens there, your outlook is not very good, unless you are cute with a little twink body and don't mind being a bottom. Have you put pictures on this site? I think that's a pretty good first step Forget pornotube because you can't keep track of the views, which is what you need to keep track of, if you are going to gauge how porn worthy you are. Xtube will even allow you to charge for your videos. Don't forget newbienudes either.

I Was doing a little research on this, and it I found that out that to break into the industry alot of guys start with gay porn. That's not really my thing so I was out, but I'm not gonna knock it.
