Vincentr1: Most people posting here don't appear to suffer from erectile dysfunction.  What happens if you use viagra and don't have and ED issue. Are you left with a day long erection? Does your penis stay erect even after ejaculation? Is it harmful to take viagra if you don't suffer from ED? Inquiring minds want to know. ???

I've been concerened now for months about the increasing "recreational use" of Viagra and (soon to be, no doubt) the OTHER equivalent medications being introduced.

Younger guys using these erection-enhancing meds have no business fooling with them!

Viagra and the others ARE indeed circulatory-related.

There have been men who have had complications with heart rhythms, increased blood pressure symptoms, etc. as side effects---even when their MD's prescribed Viagra! I also recall reading about a few deaths indirectly associated with Viagra when it first was introduced. This medicine is SERIOUS stuff.

Using the drug when needed for erectile dysfunction is one thing--as in (typically) later in life. Using it "for kicks" is quite another and stupid when you consider the unknown risks.

AUncut10in: I couldnt disagree with you more. Most guys that use Viagra can get an erection but stress and other factors sometimes are not at their best at all times. What Viagra does is puts the fun back in sex. You know that things are gonna work like you are 18 again and it eliminates the performance stress. Last year, Pfizer sold over 1.5 billion dollars worth of Viagra. It is a very safe drug. I have read several articles in Mens Fitness and Mens Health magazines that report studies that taking Viagra occasionally is very beneficial for the health of your penis. These studies report that using Viagra on an occasional basis opens up the part that fills with blood durning an erection and keeps things working better over the long term. Of course you should not take Viagra if you are taking Nitroglycerine or have blood pressure problems. But if you are a healthy guy, it may be of benefit to take it occasionally.

One of the problems with Viagra is that it takes about an hour to work, and can take up to three house if you have eaten a mean. Check out Vidrin.com. They have Viagra in a sublingual so that it works in 15-20 minutes even if you have eaten a meal. It is by far the best way to take Viagra.

jerkin4-10: uncut...dude...aspartame has been sold by the billions of pounds and it rots your friggin brain...just because its on the market doesnt mean its totally safe...myself...i have a touch of hi blood pressure...and i have a blood pressure checker, an automatic one..and when i took viagra...it freaked me right out...im sure that there are TONS of people out there that can take viagra safely...but if you have a blood pressure problem...i would damn sure tell the doc thats prescribing it...i mean we all want 'rock hard boners' that could drive steel spikes, like we could in our teens and twenties... but it aint worth my life... :)

catcher: Hey..A buddy of mine is using viagra and I asked to try it. It did take awhile, but soon, I had a rock hard cock, and I mean rock hard! I don't know if it prolongs you from having an orgasm, but in my case it certainly did! Even afterwards, I had a chubby for quite awhile.

BUT...I must admit, when it started kicking in, I did feel very flushed. This is medication so next time, if I ever want to use it, I will ask the good doctor if it is right for me.....hey uncut...u r right it was a lot of fun! ;D

Captin_hung: i tend to know a bit about viagra and the ed drugs (cialis, levitra) as my mum works as a sexual advisor (she sells the stuff)and also works in the sexual health clinic at the hospital
she once told me of a guy who took 4 pills of viagra with out needing them the poor bastard had to get the blood drawn out of his penis as he had an erection for 7 hours
and by the way if you take a viagra with out needing it all it should do i give you a 2 hour boner or there abouts assuming you have no other medical problems.
and you do need stimulation for it to work

AUncut10in: I didn't mean to imply that Viagra is not a drug, it is. It should be taken correctly and if you have blood pressure problems or heart condition, then you should definately be under doctor care. What I was trying to say is Viagra is not just for guys that can not get an erection. It can be a tool used to help guys maintain an erection when under stress or have performance anxiety. It is not a class A drug. If you are healthy and want a little help now and then, well that is what Viagra is for.

Thumper_10x7_CA: I've used Viagra a few times and the biggest drawback for me is it would give me a big headache after awhile. To remedy that I would only take half a pill and take 1 Tylenol with it. When I do that I don't have any problems with headaches.
As for my hard-ons, it gives me a stronger, more solid erection but I don't stay hard automatically. I still need stimulation, though less of it. A swift breeze could make my dick stand at attention. So basically I perform the same, it's just that my hard on is more intense.

You know some odd years, ago there was an article about some army sergeant who took more than the recommended dosage of the stuff, and had an erection that lasted a LONG time. Anyway, it got so out of control that he had to be rushed for immediate medical surgery, which then rendered him completely impotent.

Turns out the first time the stuff ever resulted in a man becoming impotent.

jimbo67: Before you spend a lot of money on Viagra, try taking a 50mg zinc tablet once a day. Zinc is necessary for normal male sexual functioning. 100 tablets cost about $4.00 at the drug store or supermarket.

If the zinc does not work, then see your doctor about getting Viagra.

Luckily I don't need a Viagra-type med yet, but my drs. tell me that if I did I'd be out of luck.

I had a myocardial infarction, with sudden death, in 1999 and I carry nitro glycerin tabs with me for occasional angina. If I were to take a Viagra, or any of its current competitors, and soon after need to take a nitro tablet, I could die.

The funny thing is, I have a good pharmaceutical deal with Pfizer that would allow me to buy Viagra for only $15 per month.

Hairyguy_28: It's my understanding that contrary to raising blood pressure, viagra actually lowers blood pressure. I haven't given the mechanics of that alot of thought but I definately remember reading it somewhere.. I think it was when I was investigating whether or not I wanted to mess around with poppers.

The two products affect the circulatory system in a similar way, so are extremely dangerous if used together. I did try the poppers and I really enjoy using them now. It's not the kind of thing I'd want to include every time I'm having sex, but in moderation they can be alot of fun.

Poppers, or nasally inhaled Amyl Nitrate vapour is a popular recreational drug in the gay community but has very little exposure on the hetro side of things. It's normally touted as a tool for easing entry in anal sex but I disagree with that. I think it can enhance orgasm and to a lesser extent erection but I prefer to be level headed at the time I'm putting anything in my butt ;)

Anyway, any hetro folks out there with an experimental nature should give poppers a shot after reading up on the nature of the substance. No reason it should be only a gay thing :)

You mean amyl nitrite, with an 'i'. Amyl nitrate, with an 'a', is in tablet form to be used sublingually for cardial treatment and is not 'poppers'.

Savannah: How about a woman's point of view here?....yes, there are dangers, and I certainly wouldn't want a lover with high blood pressure risking his life with Viagra. However, many men my age (I'm 50) have difficulty reaching more than one orgasm within several hours, and even half a tablet of Viagra can make a tremendous difference in stamina. It still takes stimulation (I consider that a plus) but the stamina range is/can be awesome. As women's sex drives ten to increase with age, this is quite an advantage. What is sad is the number of men who refuse to admit they might need [it].

They may refuse to admit they need it to others, but they certainly tell their doctors about it. Sales are incredible.

And Savannah, Welcome to the forum. I really like your style, Lady!!

tripod2004: I think viagra is amazing. for the first time in a long time i got my erection pointing upwards. its far too heavy normally to get past horizontally stiff.
so it helps the larger penis get up further
and yes hot flushes!
