Unsurprisingly, I've never been to an Olympics before, but I supposedly have tickets available to me for the footy, and something else with a different person but I cannot remember what. Also, the sailing is apparently pretty near to where I live, so I intend to pop down there for the day.
The thing I like most about the Olympics is the global scale of it. I know that's the bloody point, but I remember being on the motorways during Euro 96 and seeing coachloads of Czechs and Swiss and Dutch and whathaveyou. I loved that.
Now, I'm hoping this is just British self-deprecation, but is anyone else thinking the ceremony won't be as good as the Beijing one? I dunno, should be good regardless.
So who's been/going?
