North America Here.

In Quarantine; but not under Quarantine

I am one of the unfortunate who still has to to to work, though I count myself lucky to be able to go to work.
I can buy gas, as I drive in. I can buy lunch, though many places I like are closed, I can stand in line to be let into the pharmacy or Dunkin Doughnuts / as they only let a certain number of people in, I can walk past my barber; but not get a cut as he is closed

Saddest part of all , the weather is getting nicer; and I see beautiful women . The drawback is that I have to ask for their number and promise to call them for a date in hopefully 2 to 6 months :) when the quarantine is lifted

The governor just announced a "stay at home or work" order starting tomorrow. I've been working from home (except for Mondays) for a few weeks already though and since that's practically the only time I leave the house anyway I was already pretty self-quarantined. Except I have gone over to my friend's (formerly with benefits but not any more) house a few times so I don't go stir crazy alone in my house.

Stay at home orders. Medicaid won’t pay for my services, so I’m out of work, as a contractor, so I’m waiting to sign on for unemployment.

in Colorado, we can go to a local park or open space to walk, six foot rule in place. And now, cloth masks. Lots of Buffs and bandanas. It’s the Wild West again, fashion wise.
I go for groceries alternating weeks. I have the option of a large grocery, a Whole Foods, and also a local small shop. The small shop is the smarter option. Fewer people. Avoiding this week because of social security and EBT money dropping.
Drive up restaurants and delivery doing well, so far.

Haven’t been to my sweetie’s house since mid March.
We flirt and woo over phone calls and video calls

The Bahamas government restrictions began March 20, 2020 with air travel being halted, the closing of all non essential businesses - including liquour stores, social distancing and persons coughing and sneezing being advised to wear masks. From April 8 no one was admitted to any foodstore without first donning a mask. I was able to go to a nearby chuchyard for exercise until a general lockdown started April 9 - & which ceases 6am April 14. We were told not to leave home without wearing a mask too. I'll have to create another mask for myself as mine isn't comfortable now.

Life is strange but good all things considering. My house is now my home, workplace, gym, and pub. I'm lucky to still be working (from home). My wife is an essential worker, but thankfully she works in an environment that has no contact with the general public. We live in the country, so social distancing isn't hard for us (our nearest neighbor is a 5 minute walk away). I participated in a virtual pub night with a bunch of guys I know which was a lot of fun. We made it a requirement to dress up to feel better and make an effort. Most guys followed this requirement. It seemed like a lot of hassle at first, but in the end it was a good idea to get out of the sweats, shave and shower to look presentable and feel good about yourself. My basement has become my gym. I've been streaming some workout sessions, and I have an old treadmill down there that I've used more times in the last month than I've used in the 15 years we've had it. We had talked about getting rid of it for years because we never used it. I can't tell you how glad I am that we didn't sell it. I always figured it would be too much hassle for very little money to try and sell it, so it sat in the basement unused for years. I'm also lucky that we have over 10 acres to walk around on without worrying about running into other people who may be sick. I did notice after dressing up the other night that I'm putting on weight from all of the snacking I've been doing, so I have pledged to myself to cut back on it and to not bring anymore junk food into the house. I can't get the same workout intensity at home that I do in the gym, so I know I'm not burning as many calories from my workouts as before.

I miss the things I used to take for granted like going to the gym. There are a lot of people around the world who have it way harder than I do, so I count my blessings. Take care and stay healthy everyone!
