Life is strange but good all things considering. My house is now my home, workplace, gym, and pub. I'm lucky to still be working (from home). My wife is an essential worker, but thankfully she works in an environment that has no contact with the general public. We live in the country, so social distancing isn't hard for us (our nearest neighbor is a 5 minute walk away). I participated in a virtual pub night with a bunch of guys I know which was a lot of fun. We made it a requirement to dress up to feel better and make an effort. Most guys followed this requirement. It seemed like a lot of hassle at first, but in the end it was a good idea to get out of the sweats, shave and shower to look presentable and feel good about yourself. My basement has become my gym. I've been streaming some workout sessions, and I have an old treadmill down there that I've used more times in the last month than I've used in the 15 years we've had it. We had talked about getting rid of it for years because we never used it. I can't tell you how glad I am that we didn't sell it. I always figured it would be too much hassle for very little money to try and sell it, so it sat in the basement unused for years. I'm also lucky that we have over 10 acres to walk around on without worrying about running into other people who may be sick. I did notice after dressing up the other night that I'm putting on weight from all of the snacking I've been doing, so I have pledged to myself to cut back on it and to not bring anymore junk food into the house. I can't get the same workout intensity at home that I do in the gym, so I know I'm not burning as many calories from my workouts as before.
I miss the things I used to take for granted like going to the gym. There are a lot of people around the world who have it way harder than I do, so I count my blessings. Take care and stay healthy everyone!
